| Tour Guide Legal Requirements |
There is no requirement for a guide to have a license to give tours.
However, any individual that utilises a vehicle to transport passengers is subject to Land Transport New Zealand's passenger service regulations. As such the guide or driver must hold 'Passenger Endorsement' from LTNZ. This ensures the driver or guide does not have criminal record, is a competent driver and has no medical issues that would make the carriage of fare paying passengers unsafe.
Vehicles must comply with LTNZ's Certificate of Fitness (CoF) regulations. report error
