Connect with a kiwi – My name is Suzee and I am a very grateful Wellington tour guide. Ever wished you had a friend to meet you when you arrive in a new city, well, that’s me. I will help you make the most of your time in Wellington, connecting you with local places and stories that will be meaningful for you. As an artist, storyteller and passionate Wellingtonian, I connect with people and their stories. I laugh a lot, am naturally curious and keen to make a difference. I have been a private tour guide since 2017 (lucky for me), showcasing Wellington to visitors who wish to experience our fabulous city from an insider’s perspective. I am the owner/operator of a small boutique Wellington tour company with Jo D. Pick up and drop off is at your ship, accommodation or the airport. A bit about me - Wellington is my home. I arrived in Wellington in nappies (diapers, if you are from the US) at 6 months old. Other than six years living in the UK, I have been lucky enough to live in Wellington my whole life. I am a passionate traveler, having visited Scandinavia, Europe, UK, Ireland, US, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Rarotonga and Bali. A lifetime highlight is seeing the entire night sky moving in the green waves of Northern Lights in Iceland. A qualified social worker, researcher and artist, I love having conversations about life, living in Wellington, travel, dogs and any other fabulous topics that typically come up at an entertaining dinner party. You can safely take me to most places 😊. What to expect: • Great communication from initial contact right through to tour day. • We will have fun, laugh lots, swap stories and get to know each other. By the end of the day, you will have a good sense of the city and what it is like to live here. • I will introduce you to the history, the people, the architecture and geography, the food and drink, the beaches and most probably, our infamous wind, a defining feature of Windy Wellington. Tour guiding is my happy place - I must be doing something right as we have more than 140 five-star reviews on TripAdvisor, and over 40 five-star reviews on Google. Do you have five or more people travelling together? Please message me. Together we can create a fun and fabulous Wellington day for all your friends and family. If I am unavailable, please check out Jo D, as I know she will also give you fabulous day out. Once you have booked, I’ll get in touch. And, if you would like, I can give you a call to talk through our day together. Get in touch to find your Wellington for a day.

Overview of your Wellington tour

Do you prefer hanging smelling the sea air or getting out into the rainforest? There are two roads heading out of Wellington. Driving 45 minutes north, you can either experience sea views (Kapiti Coast) or a walk in native rain forest (Kaitoke Forest). The choice is yours... Option A: check out the dramatic open spaces of the Kāpiti Coast rocky and sandy beaches followed by a classic Kiwi driving experience of the rural Paekākāriki Hill Road. Option B: we will drive through the lush Hutt Valley, before experiencing the quiet and calm of the Kaitoke Regional Park (where Lord of the Rings fans may spot a few elves heading home). In the afternoon - Visit your must do city attractions eg cable car, Mt Victoria Lookout or Wētā Cave. Passionate about food and drink? Me too. There are heaps of opportunities to try local foods and drink throughout the day, and chocolate (a category of its own). Travelling with 5 or more? Get in touch. I’ll design a tour just for you all.

Your Wellington tour itinerary

Itinerary options: • Pick up and drop off at the Port, your accommodation or the airport. • Dip your toe in the water at a spectacular Kāpiti Coast beach. • Experience coastal views from the iconic Paekākāriki Hill Road . • Or spot an elf in the rainforest at Kaitoke Regional Park (Rivendell). • See the city from Mt Victoria and/or the Wind Turbine. • Ride the Cable Car. • Drive the rugged South Coast. • Meet the trolls at the Wētā Cave. • Taste boutique food, coffee and drink delights. • Light refreshments and the activities listed included. Once you have booked, I’ll get in touch. And, if you would like, I can give you a call to talk through our day together. If I am unavailable, please check out Jo D. I know she will give you fabulous day out.
