Hi, I'm John I am a true born and bred Aucklander, and have lived all my life in this wonderful city. My Auckland heritage is very strong, going back three generations. I am passionate about Auckland and would love the opportunity to show you around this intriguing city. My background is in real estate where I was the co-owner of an international franchise company. I also hold a Diploma from the New Zealand Institute of Management. My interests include movies, shows, music, and sports. I play tennis and golf, and run regularly (starting tomorrow!). I retain a keen interest in international affairs, and have travelled to many parts of the world, including the USA, Canada, Australia, some Pacific islands, Great Britain, Europe, and Egypt. The unique location of Auckland, stretching from one side of New Zealand to the other on a narrow isthmus, means there is an incredible variety of natural features to enjoy, including native bush, beautiful beaches, dormant volcanoes, a sparkling harbour, plus manicured parks with stands of native trees. A rich and colourful history and culture provides a vibrant backdrop to this lively city, and ensures that a guided tour of Auckland will be a memorable experience. Of course a tour could be customised to meet your particular requirements. I can promise you a compelling mix of sound local knowledge, and fun. it would be a pleasure to introduce you to the Auckland I know and love. See you soon! John

This full-day private tour combines an appetizing overview of what Auckland city has to offer with a taste of the rugged natural beauty of Auckland's west coast. On one hand we will enjoy the tranquil bays and beaches of the gentle Waitemata Harbour, while on the other we will marvel at the effect that nature has on the more tempestuous harbour of the west, in terms of rock formation, black sand, and foam-capped breakers. Today we will appreciate the seaside villages along the eastern bays, the old-world charm of Cornwall Park, the stunning views from Mt Eden, plus the park-like setting of the Auckland Domain, featuring the imposing Auckland Museum. We will then enter a different world to enjoy the bush, beach, surf and streams of the west. Of course there will be plenty of time for photos, for coffee, and for lunch. Also a tour could be customised to meet your particular requirements. I can promise you a day that will live long in your memory.
The drive along Auckland's waterfront takes us first to a vantage point of the harbour, with views to iconic Rangitoto Island. We'll pass several bays and beaches, then stop at Achilles Point to enjoy further views of the harbour. Next is Cornwall Park—an extensive area of native trees, oak trees, old stone fences, flower gardens, and fields with sheep and cattle grazing. Next stop is Mt Eden, with the optional walk to enjoy panoramic views of the city and the Waitakere Ranges. On to the beautiful Auckland Domain to enjoy the duck ponds, gardens, and views of the Auckland War Memorial Museum. We travel down the historic Parnell Rd with its quaint shops and old brick alleyways, then head west to the native bush and pounding surf of the West Coast beaches. Passing through the little township of Titirangi, we arrive at the Arataki Visitor Centre, which provides a historical background of the area. Driving on through more native bush, we come to the famous Piha, guarded by the imposing Lion Rock.
