**Awarded Local Legend By ToursByLocals** for South and Central Asia & Oceania! Kia ora. I would love you to spend some time with me as we explore Tamaki Makaurau (Auckland) and beyond. I grew up on a farm, attended the small local country school, went to high school in Auckland and have lived mostly in Auckland. I will share the sights, secrets and tastes of New Zealand's largest city with you. As your private tour guide you will see the best sights and my favourite spots where you can enjoy the nature, history and culture of a city built on more than 50 dormant volcanoes. Whether you choose to walk or be driven you can be assured it will be at an enjoyable pace. I'm very flexible so you can always suggest or change something as we go. Just relax, have a great day out and enjoy discovering the real New Zealand with me. I have been working with international visitors for about 30 years and have lived and worked overseas. I love travelling and making friends. I'm a great believer in Slow Travel, having a local experience and taking away lots of good memories. Free Wifi available while you are with me. Ka kite ano New Zealand Passenger licence, Current First Aid Certificate, NZ ProGuides member, CELTA - Certificate English Language Teaching Adults, Kiwihost programme Vehicle has COF, TSL and I have a P endorsement on my licence.

See Auckland and surrounds in a short time. Let me take you to one of my favourite west coast beaches and you will be amazed at the dramatic nature and sights so very close to Auckland city. This is a great overview of the Auckland area as we quickly leave the city behind and head through vineyards, market gardens, villages and sheep farms to the black sand beach of Muriwai (black water). The west coast is wild, dramatic and beautiful. This is the real New Zealand and I have been visiting here since it seems like forever! This day out combines both the city and countryside, beaches and nature. Finish the day with a trip to one of the city's beautiful volcanoes and enjoy the views from east to west, north to south of a city built on the narrow land between 2 harbours.
- First we take a look at the lifestyle and inner city sights of Auckland then travel towards the west coast. - A 30 minute drive will have us at Muriwai beach. Travel through the city suburbs, then market gardens, vineyards, country villages and sheep farms arriving at Maori Bay. - A short walk to the gannet colony. From September to March they are nesting, breeding and preparing to spend the summer here before departing again at the end of March. - Then walk down to Muriwai black sand beach. A favourite with surfers, locals, visitors and families. - Explore Maori Bay at low tide and walk through the sea cave (steep climb so this is optional). - Next travel through the Waitakere rainforest and visit the Arataki centre which offers a great introduction to our culture, forest and enjoy the amazing views. - Arrive back in Auckland and enjoy more sights and views from one of Auckland's most famous volcanoes before saying farewell. Or let's customise this day out to suit you. Just get in touch for options
