A true local, I was born and bred in Wellington and grew up on western hills above Petone, a suburb on the northern edge of beautiful Wellington Harbour. After studying at the University of Otago, Dunedin, I lived and travelled throughout Asia where I learned what creates a great adventure holiday experience. Upon my return to Wellington, I founded my own small group tour company to make it easier for tourists to experience the local sights and flavours of the fascinating Wellington region. I have a passion for food, beer and wine and many of my tours focus around the wonderful local producers in the region. I'm also a keen sports fan with a particular obsession with cricket! We had a great time with Philip showing us around his beautiful city of Wellington. There were nine of us in total. We were able to understand the history of this gorgeous land. We so enjoyed his complete round robin tour of the city. We felt as if we saw all the highlights. We also really enjoyed his choice of lunch site. Great time with a wonderful guide. The tour starts with a drive along the Wellington Waterfront and up Mt Victoria to the Mt Victoria Lookout for stunning 360 degree views of Wellington city and it's picturesque harbour. Take a scenic coastal drive around Oriental Bay and Evans Bay Parades and take a look at the variety of private cable cars perched precariously on the hillside. Make a brief stop at the iconic Wellington Blown Away sign before a visit to the famous Weta Cave Shop, the hub of Weta Studio Tours in Miramar, Wellington. The tour returns to the city via a drive along the South coast and the Brooklyn Wind Turbine with it's unbeatable city views before a return to the city proper with downtown sights including an optional ride in the famous Wellington Cable Car and a look at the Lady Norwood Rose Gardens via a walk through the Botanical Gardens. The final tour destination is Old St. Paul's Cathedral and its impressive stained glass windows. Explore the native hardwood timber cathedral which dates back to 1856.
