Awesome Auckland

We booked John Stephenson for a day tour of Auckland and surrounding areas. He picked us up at our cruise ship disembarkation and dropped us off at the airport for our evening flight to Sydney. We saw many of Auckland's residential neighborhoods, beach areas, parks, and important buildings, and had a nice lunch in the Mt Eden neighborhood close to where John lives. Some focus on his own personal experience growing up and living in Auckland left us with a deeper understanding of life there in my view. John is unfailingly polite, knowledgeable about NZ/Auckland, and inquisitive about our story, which makes for nice conversation. John was able to guide us adeptly though my wife has some limited mobility and we used her wheelchair for extended walking. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again for touring.

John was an OUTSTANDING tour guide! As a native and multigenerational family from Auckland, his knowledge of history, early and contemporary Maori people issues, biodiversity of area, botanical splendor, wildlife and architectural showcases were just some of the experiences shared on this tour. John's stories are amazing and entertaining. You feel like you have become part of his family. John is very flexible and he was totally able to customize the tour to meet my diverse interests. John was a very knowledgeable, fun, and caring tour guide. The tour he took us on was well prepared and felt very thorough. We loved our experience.

We enjoyed our tour with John very much. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate on the day we toured around Auckland as it rained the whole time, so we were unable to do most of the things John had planned for us to do. Still he did a great job taking us to all the different areas of Auckland and giving us the history and telling us all sorts of interesting information about New Zealand culture, people and politics. A true learning experience.

We had a excellent tour with John S.! John was very knowledgeable but very pleasant! We felt that we really got to experience Auckland. The tour had a large variety of historical, botanical, and city points.

Highly recommend this 7-8 hour extensive tour of Auckland. John is an excellent guide who shares lots of stories about Aucklands history and his own, often humorous, stories growing up and living there. He picked us up at the cruise port and dropped us off at the airport. His SUV is comfortable and clean.
