Hi there, I'm a young at heart, 3 score plus a little bit more female and have lived all my life in the Bay of Plenty. I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life. We have so much to offer within this area, from a working gold-mine, bush walks, spectacular natural scenery, geothermal activity through to being in the heart of the kiwifruit and avocado growing-region with a few wineries dotted in between. Personally I've completed a business studies degree majoring in tourism and I'm mad about all genre of music. I've travelled abroad to visit friends and family several times and have particularly enjoyed those out-of-the-way experiences that only the locals know about. I drive a limo spec BMW 7 series which is particularly spacious or for a further touch of class come riding in my 1979 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow which is subject to availability! I'm passionate about the area I live in and welcome the opportunity to show it off. I've completed a business studies degree majoring in tourism. I hold a Passenger Service Operator's Licence together with a passenger endorsement (P) on my driver's licence. I also have a First Aid certificate

Within an hour of Tauranga, there are a host of things to see and do. If I know the things you are interested in I can organise a complete day around these sights and activities. Katikati, the Mural Town of New Zealand is just a half an hour down the road & is the only planned Irish settlement in the Southern Hemisphere. There's a museum, murals along the main street depicting characters & scenes of early Katikati. Other experiences can include a short bush walk to a magnificent native Kauri tree, bird gardens, hot pools, beaches & that's all before we get to Waihi 15 minutes away. Waihi boasts the only working goldmine in New Zealand! Mining began in 1878 and there's loads of history and relics in the township & surrounding area. There's choice from museums, mine tours (both old & new), steam train rides, an alpaca farm, great cafes, a winery, walks around the mine rim or along the tracks in the Karangahake gorge. Let me know what you'd like to include and the day is yours!

Julie is an excellent driver with a very well kept car. She was on time and very flexible. She took us on a mural tour of Katikati which was very interesting. A small town that decided to make its history big and beautiful as murals. We enjoyed a lovely walk and historical talk about the murals. We then explored the gold mining history in the area. So interesting how the mining started and continues today. We visited two beautiful overlooks that were breathtaking. Enjoyed lunch at Cafe Nourish.
Our guide Julie worked very hard to provide a great tour. She was knowledgeable and helpful. This is a beautiful area and as a life long resident Julie was enthusiastic about her homeland.
My husband and I had a special day with Julie and toured all around the Tauranga area. We toured special areas away from the major attractions which we had seen previously. Julie is knowledgeable and a fun person to travel with. We would be happy to have her as a guide anytime. Jeanne and Dave
Pleasant half day afternoon tour with a knowledgeable and personable guide. ajs
Julie was great, loved the hike and seeing all the murals. The Gold mine tour wasn't worth the time or the money, not Julie's fault, she had heard positive things, we were on a cruise and wouldn't choose to spend 2+ hours listening to a very boring guide. This was our fist trip booking private tours - can't imagine going back to an official Shore Excursion with bus load(s) of people!!
• Pick up around 7:30 - 8:00am • Drive through horticutural area to Katikati. • Wander through the murals on Katikati's main street • Additional options include bird gardens, bush walk, beach (let me know at start of day if you'd like to experience any of these so I can allow time) • Travel through more horticultural & farming area to Waihi. View some of Waihi's old & new mining history/activity - mine tour optional) • Carry on into the Karangahake Gorge (option for short or longer walk of approx an hour here) • Check out the big bottle in Paeroa • Plenty of options for coffee/lunch stop • Return to your cruiseship in good time
