Overview of your Amsterdam tour

Growing up with my grandparents war stories I developed an eagerness for constant searching and learning about the war. As a history buff I am really excited to share my knowledge as well as my family's stories. I am very intrigued to discuss any aspect of the war, hear opinions and stories with respect and empathy to any perspective. During our tour we will deep in Amsterdam's dark history during the worlds biggest conflict. We will explore the city's most significant WWII sights or memorials and I will reveal you the most important war memories of Amsterdam: - Nazis invasion - Struggle of the Dutch during the occupation - Nazis plan for Jews persecution - Role of the Jewish council and the Nationalist party - Development of the resistance including the February strike 1941 - What cause the Dutch famine during the winter 1944/45 - Dam square shooting on '45, the same day Hitler's Germany surrendered - Allies arrival and the liberation by the Canadian troops An intriguing tour for history enthusiasts

Laura Maria met us at the Resistance Museum, an amazing museum in Amsterdam (give yourself several hours there!l) She gave us a very frank tour and I was very impressed with the Dutch acknowledgement of Jewish WWII history, in stark contrast to order countries handling of history. Neighborhoods are clearly marked and the history is obvious not hidden away. History is honored, respected. Laura Maria does this too. Thank you for a great day! She gave us so much great information. Highly recommend! Also see her other tours, we were with her for 2 more days to the Delft, Hague and Amsterdam Highlights!

Laura was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and resourceful, and we greatly enjoyed the afternoon we had with her. Although we had booked the WWII tour, as soon as we started out from the hotel, there was a torrential downpour, so we hurried back to the hotel and had a thoroughly enjoyable time listening to Laura‘s stories about the war, Amsterdam‘s role in it, and a good bit of the history of Amsterdam. Although I can’t tell you much about the tour itself because we didn’t actually do it, I can tell you that Laura is a wonderful guide and if we return to Amsterdam, we will engage her again. Thank you so much, Laura, for a great afternoon.

Laura was fantastic. So warm and caring about our experience. She was knowledgeable and very free with her stories and opinions--just what we wanted. Tour was well planned and executed. She even went out of her way to escort my 90 year old mother-in-law back to the hotel at the conclusion of the tour. So very nice and caring. We would highly recommend Laura to others.
