Hi, my name is Louke and I am a passionate private tour guide, radio host, and crafts teacher in Amsterdam. I have strolled around with guests for over 350 tours in my favorite city. I have had a whole pandemic to be as creative as I want to be and create podcasts, blogs, TikTok, and perfected my nail tech skills. I walk in any kind of weather but I can tell you all about it over a hot cup of coffee to wait out the rain if we choose to. I made sure that I knew a lot about the history and the cultures that live in Amsterdam. I can tell you about daily life, and the mentality of Amsterdammers but I am willing to take you to The Hague or Utrecht and tell you about life and history there too. I have accompanied guests to visit museums and take canal rides on many boat tours. I'm great with young kids on family trips and I know the best places to eat. It's pretty much like meeting up with a friend who knows her way around while you get to see all you want to see while you are in the Netherlands. I do predefined tours if you choose them but I am always up for customizing to your wishes so you will get to experience the best bits of your bucket list. Fully equipped with a guide permit and aware of the latest rules to offset the overgrown tourism in Amsterdam city center. I live in the oldest part of town and am very involved in activities for and with locals; I don't enjoy crowds. I also teach life lessons through creative workshops at schools all over the city and online. While strolling along with people on their hard-earned vacations, I have a true passion for European history and storytelling. As an artist, I have a creative way of looking at the world, and that adds to the fun of all my tours.

Walking around Amsterdam is like stepping into history without even opening a book or seeing a map. It is my greatest pleasure to tell guests about all the lovely and quirky bits of life in Amsterdam. I take equal pride in sharing the stories of how this city grew to be the wealthiest spot on the map during its peak. The Dutch are like ants: everywhere! The at-times dark stories of trading every inch of the globe made Amsterdam and The Netherlands an important part of the world you know today. Travelers are open to new impressions, and spending time with a local just makes it that more interesting.
If you would like a tour around Amsterdam by someone as if they were a long time friend showing you around their home town, this tour is for you. Louke was friendly and enthusiastic showing you the the sights that only a local would know. The 3 hour tour went by very quickly and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
We enjoyed our time with Louka - many funny stories. She was light on history which was one of our primary interests. It was a lovely walk through nice neighborhoods - but not the deep dive we had hoped for.
Louke was a phenomenal guide. She is high energy, animated and funny. She was flexible in where we started and gave us a great walking overview of the city. She was also considerate of some pacing issues we had and made sure it wasn't a problem at all. We would definitely use Louke for our next tour.
Louke was fun and a fantastic guide. Living here for 30 years makes her a plethora of knowledge! she’s got a great sense of humor which is great cuz you can get a wee zzzzz with some guides! Not Louke! Lots of interesting details about Amsterdam history and hidden art. Ask about the trap door at the Rijks! Super easy to chat with. Kept things going at a faster pace which we love! She was very helpful with boating and restaurant tips!

What can we say...Louke was soooo much fun and gave us the best tour! We had miserable weather with the rain and wind - but we kept right on going. If you thought of someplace of interest Louke would say "lets go!" We put in alot of steps that day but it was so worth it! Book with Louke!
We meet at your hotel lobby (or a convenient location we agree on) and spend a lovely time walking along the canals and bridges of gorgeous Amsterdam.
