Hello, nice to meet you! My name is Jeroen. (Jerome) I am a professional guide in Amsterdam and...

This is an extended version of the Highlights walking tour, with a focus on several hidden gems in the older parts of the city. We will walk through the medieval city, passing iconic places in the city center, like the Royal Palace on Dam Square, De Waag (Old city gate), the Rembrandthouse, The Begijnenhof, the Wester Church and the Anne Frank House. But we will also walk through smaller alleys and narrow medieval streets usually avoided by the crowds. And we'll walk along 17th century canals and through the famous Jordaan neighborhood, visiting some of the unique Dutch courtyards. Or instead we could visit Our Dear Lord in the Attic. A former hidden church, situated in a 17th century canal house in the famous red light district. I can pick you up at your hotel, if it is in city center, or else we'll meet in front of the Central Train Station. This is a great way to get to know the city. You will surely want to come back for more! The walk can also be combined with a private canal tour.
Schreiers Tower, one of the oldest buildings in Amsterdam Red Light District De Waag, Old city gate Rembrandthouse, (visit optional) the Begijnhof, a very special Amsterdam courtyard, founded around 1350. Dam Square, the true heart of the city with the Royal Palace. A walk along some nice small streets, between the 17th century canals will bring us to the Jordaan, a famous neighborhood with a rich history of social uprising and unrest, now one of the most expensive parts of the city. Passing the Wester Tower and the Anne Frank Museum (visit not included) we will walk on to visit a 17th century courtyard with a very different origin and style as the Begijnhof. The walk finishes in front of the Central Station or anywhere in the center you would prefer. Of course this tour can also be customized, Just let me know if there are special places you would like to see.
