Escape the city for a day and come with me to explore Kamakura by electric bicycle. We will take a train from Tokyo to Kamakura. After picking up our bicycles, we will cycle via the ocean front to Hasedera Temple. We will spend approximately 45 minutes at this incredible site, before continuing our journey to the Great Daibutsu, a 13 metres tall Buddha statue with a fascinating history. After that, we will cycle to a shrine dedicated to Benzaiten, the goddess of water, where we will have the opportunity to pray for prosperity and wash actual money in holy water for it to multiply. We will then return to Kamakura Station to return the bikes, and continue on foot through the vibrant shopping street lined with local crafts and street foods before reaching our final destination, Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Jinja. There are many options to sample local foods, or frequent a restaurant along the way.
