Born and raised in Venice I am an Art expert and a seasoned traveller. I work as a licensed Tour Guide in Venice since 2012. I took a University degree in Art History in 1994 and then I left Venice to go to Paris and to Brussels for 6 months. I ended up spending abroad 13 years. While abroad I took a Masters degree in Marketing and Communication and I started working in different international environments. Then I moved together with my husband to Vienna. That's why I speak fluent English, French and a conversational German. We are back in Venice now since 2009, we have two wonderful boys and we enjoy being again close to our families. What I like most of my job is to unveil my home place to curious visitors. There's so much to see in Venice. There are so many fabulous stories to tell. Every client is different, has a different background, has different expectations. Venice can satisfy each of them, the challenge is to find the right key. I think I have a wonderful job in the most beautiful office of the world! NOTICE FOR TRAVELLERS ON A CRUISE SHIP If you'll be in Venice staying on a cruise ship and just in transit unfortunately I can't get any bookings as you won't be arriving at the previous dock in central Venice and in most cases you'll be told about the final docking place just the day before. Tour Guide License n° 1114 (Venice Metro Area) Port Security Pass n° 2017 (Venice Port Authority) Licensed Guides in Venice have no restrictions at all.

Our walk focuses on the history of the Jews in Venice, on how, when and why the Jewish Ghetto was created, on the attitude of the Venetian Government at the time, on a more recent and sad chapter of our history, the holocaust. Officially created in 1516 the Jewish neighbourhood marked an important chapter in the history of Venice and of the Venetians up to World War I and II and to our days. Five synagogues, several shops, a kosher bakery, restaurants and much more witness and tell us how lively the area and the Jewish community still are. The tour starts in Campo San Bartolomeo, near the bridge of Rialto, and hits all the main sites once connected to the life and the history of the Jews in Venice. It develops through the neighbourhood of Cannaregio and focuses on the three Jewish Ghettos. As I am licensed for touring inside the Synagogues we can include a visit of the one (or two) which are open on that day (optional, tickets to be purchased separately, on site). The tour ends nearby the Train Station.
Walk from the Rialto market area to the Jewish Ghetto. The visit includes: - the open market of Rialto - cross the Grand Canal on a Gondola-ferry - walk through the neighbourhood of Cannaregio - Ghetto Nuovo - Ghetto Nuovissimo - Ghetto Vecchio - a visit of the Synagogues (optional and upon availability) At the end of the tour the client can visit the Synagogues. The guide will provide the necessary information. NOTICE From late Friday to Saturday evening as well as on Jewish Festivities the Synagogues are closed. Please contact me for customization.
