Villa Barbaro and Villa Emo by Andrea Palladio

This tour is for architecture aficionados who want to take a deeper dive into the work of Palladio and see some of his villas in situ. Marvelous frescos - an interesting view into the lives of the wealthy in the 1500’s. Francesca was very knowledgeable, friendly and spoke excellent English. Our driver, Giovanni, was also very helpful and his car very clean and comfortable.

Francesca, we enjoyed your custom tour of Bassano and Asolo last week. Your knowledge of the region is deep, especially in the areas of art and history. Our only regret is that we did not plan on a tour which included Passagno and the background to Canova. We happened to go later in the week on our own and very much enjoyed what we saw but had little context and perspective

Francesa guided through Vincenza and we visited a number of building designed by Andreas Palladio. She began the tour in the city with an excellent discussion of how Palladio developed and we visited his early and late buildings. The next day day we visited a number of country villas. Francesca was knowledgeable and very pleasant. Her descriptions were detailed and informative. We left the region with an understanding and great appreciation of the architect.
