Verona and Valpolicella: a day trip from Venice

Venice in the past Centuries was a great City: it was the capital city of a Republic that, during the Centuries, conquered cities and regions that gave to it the strategic control of some of the most important trade at the time. Verona is one of them. Verona was already a very important city, when it became part of Venice at the beginning of the XV Century. That's why in the City are many important examples of Art and Architecture from different Centuries: the Roman arena, medieval castles and houses, the renaissance piazzas and palaces, many important Romanesque and gothic churches, beautiful gardens, and so on. It was the city of Romeo and Juliet, and it is surrounded by beautiful hills (the Valpolicella area) where they produce some of the best italian wines: the Amarone, the Recioto, the Valpolicella are just some examples of them.
