Venice Walk and Boat Introductory Private Tour

This was our second tour with Giovanna. Yesterday she gave my wife and me an introduction to Venice through a walking tour of the Dorsoduro district. This tour perfectly expanded our appreciation for this beautiful city. Our walk took us to the magnificent Piazza San Marco where we saw the Basilica, The Clocktower, and Doge’s Palace. Then by private boat we explored more distant sections of Venice. Again, we appreciated Giovanna’s knowledge and the engaging manner with which she introduced us to Venice. We highly recommend any of her tours.

Giovanna was a most excellent guide. Unfortunately, the only day that we were able to visit Venice was windy, rainy, and cold. Giovanna did everything possible to make our time pleasant. We took a wonderful private water taxi around the city and in the canals for about an hour. Later we took another water taxi back to the main bus station where our driver was waiting to take us back to Chioggia and our ship. Unfortunately, Saint Mark's was closed by the time we stopped there. I'll have to come back!

We hired Giovanna Gradella to provide an introductory tour of Venice, including San Marco and the Gallerie dell'Accademia. Giovanna exceeded our expectations. Born and raised in Venice, Giovanna was able to provide a true locals view of the city, adding details of life in Venice that enhanced the tour. Her art history background and historical knowledge gave her an expertise that made the tours of San Marco and the Accademia particularly insightful. We give Giovanna our highest recommendation.

Giovanna is AMAZING! You cannot ask for a better guide for Venice. She is native to the area, and knows so much unique history concerning the city. What makes her even better is her engaging personality and willingness to do whatever is needed to make your tour a great experience. Most definitely would recommend working with Giovanna, and look forward to grabbing coffee with her when I'm in Venice again.

Giovanna was great. She knows so much about Venetian history and is also very personable. I forgot to tell my two adult daughters what to wear to get in St. Mark's and she did everything she could to get us in. If you like history, I highly recommend her.
