Buongiorno! My name is Michela, welcome to my ToursByLocals page! I’m an enthusiastic and passionate tour guide and I work in Venice, Vicenza, Padova and Palladian villas. I was born and raised in Vicenza, a Unesco World Heritage Site, and my love for art probably started there when I was very little. That is why I decided to move to Venice to study Art History at the Ca’ Foscari University and to become a tour guide. I’ve been working as a licensed tour guide for 15 years now, and the experience I gained and the knowledge of my land allow me to offer quality tours, fun and engaging at the same time. Before being a guide I’m a friendly and curious person who likes stories, anecdotes, and legends too. Whenever I can I like going off the beaten path, to discover something unusual. I love to share my passion for Art and for the beauty of the region where I have the chance to live. I can’t help but be amazed every time I walk around Venice, the magnificence of the Renaissance paintings, the hills and the villas in the Land of Venice. My tours are for those arriving in my region for the first time, but also for those who have already been here many times and want to discover something different. I really look forward to get in touch with you and to welcome in the Land of Venice soon! More about me: Licensed Local Guide since 2010 Licensed Tour leader since 2013 Masters degree in History of Arts and Preservation of Cultural Heritage, 110/110 with honours - Bachelors of Arts degree in Preservation of Cultural Heritage, 110/110 with honours I also worked many years as a guide in important art exhibitions, I was the event manager of an Associations of Architects, and I also did an internship at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice where I worked mainly with kids.

Would you like to discover Venice off the beaten path? Come with me to discover the Dorsoduro district, one of the most beautiful areas of the city of Venice. This neighborhood is located between the two major canals of Venice, the Grand Canal and the Giudecca Canal, which join together in the San Marco basin. It is a quiet area, where you can stroll among beautiful buildings and gardens and from where you have a unique view of the city.
What I'm going to show you: - the spectacular view of the Grand Canal from the Accademia bridge. - a "squero" that is a shipyard where gondolas are built - the "Zattere" area from which to admire the Giudecca island - Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, where Peggy Guggenheim lived - the cursed palace of Venice: Ca' Dario - the Basilica della Salute, built to protect the city from a plague in the 17th century - the ancient Punta della Dogana to learn more about the Venetian merchants And much more...learn the stories and legends of this neighborhood of Venice.
