Ciao! My name is Giuseppina, I was born in Venice and I have lived here almost all my life, in a house a few steps from Piazza San Marco, next to the opera house. Since I was little I have always been surrounded by culture and art; my father took me to see an opera when I was 5 years old, I studied ballet for many years and I fell in love with beauty since childhood. Working as a guide in my city is the best thing that could happen to me: Venice is unique in every sense: for its history, for its geographical conformity, for its position, and I love explaining to my guests why it is so particular; I do it during walks between a coffee and an ice cream, I love showing museums and sites of interest without lecturing, but with the hope that those who listen to me will fall in love with the place they are visiting as it happened to me. Plus, Venice is a city that is still alive, and I like to show aspects of daily life: my satisfaction is that my guests feel like Venetians during their stay. I can customize my tours according to your needs. Let's escape from the crowd and indulge into the quiet beauty of the northern lagoon! This tour uses a private watertaxi and spoils you indulging into nature and pure art. Among the many islands of the lagoon, many of which have disappeared, the three most important ones deserve a visit: Murano's fame is due to a traditional production of glass that had been concentrated here since the 13th century. The island of Burano remained for centuries a fishing village, but grew in importance for the activity of lace-making, the small colored houses and the perfect union of water, man and environment. Torcello, very close to Burano, remains - almost desert - an important centre of the origins of the Venetian state: the visitor is immediately struck from the peace of the environment and the extreme nobility of the 11th/12th century architecture of the sacred buildings. This tour can be customized according to your wishes.
* Our tour starts directly at your hotel dock, or in S. Mark square. * With a short ride we'll arrive in Murano, where we'll visit an authentic glass factory; masters show you what they are able to make with an ancient and unique technique . You'll have the possibility to buy souvenirs or order an unique piece at the gallery. * Once done in Murano, with an half hour boat trip we'll be in Burano. After a nice stroll through the colored houses and the incredible views of the lagoon, you'll have the pleasure to visit the lady artists who literally invent fabric with lace. * Some minutes away by boat from Burano stands Torcello, the proof of how Venice looked like at the beginning. In this island live only 7 people and you will feel like lost in time, while visiting the church of S. M. Assunta or simply walking among the relics of the ancient civilization. * after a ride in the swamp, going around the canals and the less known islands, tour ends where it began.
