Ciao , my name is Elisabetta ! ABOUT ME: I'm a born and bred (. . . and super proud !!!) venetian with a cosmopolitan soul and attitude . I grew up between Venice & Cortina D'Ampezzo (Dolomites), I always imagine myself with my feet in the lagoon and my head on the mountains and my heart shared between the 2 !!! Art and history nerd, basketball-addicted, nature ,humans and dogs lover and a "positivity engager". MY EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND : I have a bachelor's degree in translation ( English, German and French ). During my university's years, I had unforgettable experiences abroad, which opened my mind and let me discover different cultures and ways of living. Places like New York City, Mainz, Strasbourg, Innsbruck, and Greece blew my mind. A piece of my heart is still in New York where I spent a wonderful time improving my English and playing basketball in every playground in the city. After a while, though I started to feel homesick, my beautiful, unique Venice was calling me back and so I moved back home. WORKING EXPERIENCES : Too many and too various to be listed here! ;) In short when I thought it was time for me to settle down I started working as a freelance translator. I did like it but, spending most of my time facing a Pc I knew I was missing something that I deeply needed: human interaction. Therefore I decided to approach tourism ( more than 15 years ago now!) trying to turn two of my greatest passions into a job: my endless love for Venice and my need of human interaction & my love for the Dolomites! Now I'm perfectly content with what I do and who chooses me as a guide can feel it! My tours show my passion for my hometown Venice and my second home Cortina d' Ampezzo & the Dolomites. MY MISSION : My mission is to offer you unique experiences in Venice & the Dolomites (Cortina d'Ampezzo & Cadore area)not simple tours. . . hopefully memories for a lifetime! Venice is such a special place and it deserves to be shown at its best, with love, respect, and deep knowledge . Same for Cortina d'Ampezzo and the Dolomites! MY VENICE : Every morning when I open my bedroom's window I feel overwhelmed by Venice's stunning beauty and I think to myself how lucky I am to live here. I want to let you feel the same way during your long or short stay in Venice! The real Venice you will discover with me is far away from the classical touristy spots and stereotypes, a delicate but lively city struggling to find its balance between history and contemporary life, past and present, tourists and residents, economic interests and sustainability. You will discover Venice's hidden gems and learn anecdotes, legends, local peculiarities and even some gossip that only a native can know. You will catch Venice's real essence and discover what lies beneath its fake, glossy touristy surface. You will live Venice like a local enjoying its true flavor. MY DOLOMITES (Cortina d' Ampezzo & Cadore) Thanks to my uncle I started hiking when I was a little girl learning how to explore and live the Dolomites in a respectful way and years later I decided to turn my passion into a profession studying to become a licensed nature & Hiking Guide and here I'm fully licensed and with a long hicking experience ! If you love to hike or simply you want to have a sightseeing tour on the Dolomites I will be happy to share my second home with you ! WHY CHOOSE ME AS YOUR GUIDE : People say I have a warm personality, witty and bubbly like a Prosecco-wine! :) You will feel at ease with me, you will have the feeling of moving around with your best ( venetian!) friend. All my friends call me simply "Betta" and my motto is : "Venice with Betta is better !". . . no kidding! And the Dolomites? Even the Dolomites with Betta are better of course ;)!!! What are you waiting for? I 'm looking forward to welcoming you in my wonderful Venice and in my charming Cortina d' Ampezzo ! Venice's stunning beauty is what you will notice at first, but then you will start thinking what hides behind its uniqueness and particular structure: a city that seems suspended between sky and water, dream and reality, history and contemporaneity. This educational walking tour will disclose all those secrets in a funny, inter-active and informative way. You will learn why and how Venice was built, you will understand that Venice despite its historical facade is a normal city which during centuries slowly evolved into what we can admire today: a successful compromise between past and present . You will learn the particular words used to name different kind of streets and squares like campo, fundamental and many others. You will understand what means to be a Venetian today with all the pros and cons of living in such a particular place. You will get precious local tips of things to do and not do during your stay in Venice in order to have the best of it avoiding the touristy traps .
Interessante Tour mit Einblicken in die Lebenswelt der geborenen Venezianer.
Elisabetta presented a historical, cultural view of Venice. The pace of tour was perfect and her knowledge of Venice led us to have very minimal questions. We encourage anyone who tours Venice to seek out Elisabetta.
Elizabetta took us on an outstanding tour of lesser known parts of the city. We avoided crowded areas while constantly learning interesting details of Venetian history, culture, and modern day life. Elizabetta paced our walk very well, carefully taking into account the fact that my husband walks slowly and with a cane. I highly recommend Elizabetta as a guide and I also recommend this particular tour-it was first class
Elisabetta definitely knows her stuff!! We absolutely loved this tour. Getting to see Venice from the eyes of a local was incredible. We explored hidden streets and walked through parts of the city that we never would have explored on our own. Elisabetta knows how to avoid the crowds and during our tour we felt we experienced a completely different Venice. Her insight, knowledge and stories all played a role in an amazing experience. As a plus, she recommended a dinner spot and the meal was by far one of our favorites thus far. The next time you are in Venice, skip the crowds and take a tour with Elisabetta!
Simply put, Elisabetta is everything you want in a tour guide. She is personable, fun, engaging and authentic. Our quick stop in Venice as a family of 4 (mom dad and two teenagers) was made better from this tour. Elisabetta guided us to memorable eating spots, showed us unique parts of Venice and helped us understand the city and its history. It felt like a dear friend showing us their home town and a glimpse of the history that they belonged to. Bravo Elisabetta! Can't wait to come back to hang out again!
Elisabetta gave us a fantastic tour. We learned so much of Venice and the Venetian culture. She took her time with us and answered every question. We greatly appreciated her observance of our interests and knowledge sharing.
-The tour will start in Campo SS. Apostoli , a nice little square inside Cannaregio district and will end in the Rialto area on the market side . -We will walk through quiet alleys, squares and canals forgotten by the main touristy itineraries, in front of beautiful churches and buildings and you will learn how all this beauty is possible and still there after so many centuries. . . . Venice's buildings techniques will fascinate you. -Strolling around with me you will discover that Venice despite is historical facade is a real, lively city and I will share with you my personal experience of what means being a Venetian nowadays. -We will cross the Grand Canal by 'gondola traghetto' , every day's way of transportation used by Venetians to reach quickly the other side of the water. -Once on the other side, we will explore the ancient commercial heart of Venice and we will end the tour close to the Rialto bridge.

It is mainly a walking tour but, we will have a short ride by gondola-traghetto just to cross the Grand Canal
