Buongiorno! Nice to meet you! I am Abigail, a proud Italian with an English mother and Italian father. I am an Art History expert and I would love to share with you my passion for the two Italian cities I love the most, Venice and Rome! I have studied the history of art and painting in Venice during high school and then graduated with honours in Management of Cultural Tourism. I have always loved art together with travelling and discovering all aspects of culture. During my university career I experienced one year abroad with a scholarship in Spain and also took part in a prestigious internship with the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, one of my favourite museums in town. Just after graduation I studied for my tour leader and tour guide licenses and then attended several art history courses in Rome and the UK. Since then I have been sharing the beauty of Venice and Rome with visitors from all over the world. I love meeting people and I hope I will manage to make your day memorable! :) Official Tour Guide License; Official Tour Leader License; Degree with Honours in Management of Cultural Tourism; Venice Peggy Guggenheim Collection Guide; Vatican Museums Authorised Tour Guide; Venice Port Authority License.

The Dorsoduro district is one of the most beautiful and elegant areas of the city, far away from the crowds of the town center where you will discover picturesque corners, alleys and squares. This district is particulary loved by the Venetians because still today it maintains a human dimension with its 'campi', the equivalent of small squares, where children play and locals meet together with little shops and art galleries. Students of the university located in this area walk from one palace to the other following their classes, families meet and people shop at the local fruit and veg stalls. I used to go to Art school here and for many years I spent my days walking through its alleys full of history and inspiration for my paintings. I will share with you my memories as a local in love with my city.
-From the Gallerie dell'Accademia we'll start an amazing walk through the Dorsoduro district heading towards the Basilica della Salute, amazing example of Baroque architecture in town and arrive at Punta della Dogana, the best panoramic spot in town overlooking the heart of the Venetian lagoon and S. Mark's Square. -In the meantime we'll walk by the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and beautiful secret corners of the most exclusive part of the city. -We'll then walk along the side of the Giudecca Canal and if you wish we will stop for a coffee or ice cream before discovering where the gondolas, the traditional Venetian black boats are still made by hand.
