Buongiorno! Nice to meet you! I am Abigail, a proud Italian with an English mother and Italian father. I am an Art History expert and I would love to share with you my passion for the two Italian cities I love the most, Venice and Rome! I have studied the history of art and painting in Venice during high school and then graduated with honours in Management of Cultural Tourism. I have always loved art together with travelling and discovering all aspects of culture. During my university career I experienced one year abroad with a scholarship in Spain and also took part in a prestigious internship with the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, one of my favourite museums in town. Just after graduation I studied for my tour leader and tour guide licenses and then attended several art history courses in Rome and the UK. Since then I have been sharing the beauty of Venice and Rome with visitors from all over the world. I love meeting people and I hope I will manage to make your day memorable! :) Official Tour Guide License; Official Tour Leader License; Degree with Honours in Management of Cultural Tourism; Venice Peggy Guggenheim Collection Guide; Vatican Museums Authorised Tour Guide; Venice Port Authority License.

As a Venetian it is very important for me to tell the history of the other islands of the lagoon and explain the importance of this fragile ecosystem. The Venetian lagoon is the result of a delicate balance between the salted waters of the Adriatic sea and the sweet ones arriving by rivers from the Alps. In the Venetian lagoon there are many islands, some famous, others private or abandoned but each one with its own incredible history. On board the boat we'll visit two of them: Murano and Burano. Our first stop will be Murano famous worldwide for its glass production and we'll visit one of the main glass factories and see a master at work. Discover the techniques of the artists and how they create sculptures, vases and chandeliers. Our second stop will be Burano, a picturesque fishermen's island known also for its lace production and delicious biscuits!
-From S. Marks' Square we'll board the waterbus and reach our first stop, the island of Murano where we'll visit a glass factory and see a demonstration by one of the few glass masters of the island. You will have time to visit the showroom and factory shop. -From Murano we'll then head towards Burano, passing by the small abandoned islands of S. Giacomo in Paluo , Madonna del Monte and Mazzorbo. -At Burano, famous for its colourful fishermen's houses, we'll visit a small lace shop and then if you wish I can book lunch for you in one of the best restaurants of the island. - It is possible to customize this tour with a lunch option.
