Behind the scene its starting from the train station or Piazzale Roma morning walking into another local district very local side for the venetians. Through the original part of Venice, Dorsoduro, S. Croce , S. Polo districts . I know very well cause I grew up here, playing on the campi and enjoy with other children playing soccer and games. This is exactly an itinerary for those who don't like crowded tourist places, away from the downtown Rialto and S. Marco.
If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. Ermanno was awesome. We saw some very unique sights. Really appreciated the behind the scenes and stories about the Jewish section. He has a wealth of knowledge about the city having lived there his whole life. His English was excellent and his warm personality a pleasure. Can't recommend this tour enough. Thank YOU

We had a wonderful morning tour. Ermanno met us at our hotel at promptly 9:00AM. He led us on a very informative tour of some major highlights and then took us through the "back streets" where the locals live. We learned much about the history of Venice and enjoyed our tour very much! The tour can be customized if there are specific areas you wish to visit.
-Santa Lucia station, continue over the new modern bridge ( Calatrava) P. Roma ( bus station ) rio tera' dei pensieri , -S. Maria maggiore church and S. Marta borough, passing the Venetian University campus. -Beautiful promenade on the Zattere, where venetian take a walk and in summer eat the amazing gelato. -Arriving at the S. Maria della Salute church( made after the second plague XVII°) -Walk back inside the Dorsoduro district( usual of the painters and intellectuals)and S.
