Hello there ! I am Jérémie, full-time tour guide and holder of the professional Tour Guide card. I was born in Lyon in 1990 and I'm still in love with my hometown city. When I was a kid, I spent a lot of time exploring my city, reading stories about it, hearing my grand-mother telling me how the city was when she was my age. That's how you fall in love with a city. When I was 18, I went to University of Lyon to study History. I studied History for five years, lived in Canada for one year, then one year in Australia, came back here, graduated, and became a professional tour guide. Now, I'm working as a full time tour guide in and around my hometown. Best job ever if you ask me, especially when you're passionate about something: telling you all the stories I've learnt that make me think that Lyon and it's surrounding area is the best place in the world. Welcome in the Old Lyon ! In this tour, we’ll eat our way through the secret passageways of this very special place. It is one of the biggest renaissance districts of the World, now protected by the UNESCO world heritage site. It was the heart of the town in the 16th century. Lyon was on the crossroads of trade between Italy, Spain, Holland and France and the area now known as ‘Vieux Lyon’ grew up to accommodate the thriving business population. From the Cathedral to the secret passageways, we’ll stop at several places to have a taste of the local specialties that usually involved some cheese and charcuterie, but also some sweets! The whole package! This tour will feed your body as well as your mind, with several tasting breaks!
