Hi everyone, my name is Maicon! I am a French licensed tour guide. Thank you for your interest in my tours of Lyon. A little bit about me… After graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Arts and Literature, a High University Diploma to become a French Licensed Tour Guide, and a Master's Degree in Art History, I've spent already many years providing unique experiences to people from all over the world. I am passionate about art and history, but the most beautiful thing about my work is the chance that I have to share that passion with other people. In Lyon, where I am currently living, my interests vary from ancient and archeological sites, to religious local history, medieval and renaissance architectural history, museums, modern history, and of course, everything related to Lyon's local traditions and reputation, such as, the Second World War, the silk industry, the very famous narrow and picturesque passage-ways called "Traboules", as well as gastronomy (with its very traditional restaurants named "Bouchons") and the heritage left in Lyon by the Father of French Gastronomy, Paul Bocuse. Lyon has a lot to offer. In every single corner, a piece of the city's history can be appreciated, and with a more dynamic walking pace, we can cover most of the city's main features. However, if you don't walk fast, and you feel like taking your time to ask questions, or even getting a quick rest or a coffee break, I'll be more than happy to adapt to your needs. After all, my philosophy is that it must be a very informative and interesting tour, but also, enjoyable to the whole group. My tours are customizable and the itineraries are flexible. Thank you again for reading my profile, and I look forward to hearing from you and meet you in Lyon. The Museum of Fine Arts of Lyon is renowned for having the second richest art collection in France. Sometimes even called the "Little Louvre," this museum offers you the opportunity to discover masterpieces of world art. Its collections are housed in a lavish 17th-century palace, formerly a convent. Boasting magnificent architecture and a pleasant garden, this palace also deserves considerable attention during our visit. Among the periods to explore are magnificent pieces from Ancient Egypt, Greek and Roman collections, medieval and Italian Renaissance art, as well as a rich collection of classical French paintings and sculptures, not to mention the great masters of Impressionism and contemporary art. The tour price does not include the entrance ticket. This can be purchased on the day of the tour and costs 8 euros per person.
- Place des Terraux - in front the Museum's entrance - Ancient Cloister - magnificent Garden - Refectory: former room of prayer and meals, it is one of the finest examples of Baroque architecture in Lyon - Antiquity: Arts of the ancient world - Italian Renaissance art works - Collection of French Classical paintings and sculptures - Impressionist Masters - Modern and Contemporary Art
