Travel by comfortable minivan for up to seven guests, following scenic old roads and forest towards Pico do Arieiro (1,818 m). Pause for the sunrise and photographs, then descend to Ribeiro Frio for an optional local café stop, subject to opening hours. Continue to Guindaste and Pico do Facho for coastal views before returning to Funchal. Along the way, I love sharing stories about our history, nature, local products and everyday island life — and getting to know the people travelling with me. Your exact pick-up time is confirmed according to the season. Madeira's weather changes quickly: sunrise colours and visibility cannot be guaranteed. If Pico do Arieiro is unsuitable, sunrise may be viewed from Ponta de São Lourenço with an adapted route. Bring warm layers, comfortable shoes, water and a camera.
