I’m Joel, a true Madeiran born and raised on this island. To me, there’s nothing more important than the place where we come from and the 'word' we give to others. That’s why I created Madeira Unscripted. Instead of sticking to a fixed route regardless of the sky, I check the winds and live webcams on the morning of our trip to find where the island is "smiling" brightest. Please Note: To satisfy booking requirements, I have listed a "Signature Northwest" route below. However, this tour is 100% customizable. Whether you want to chase the "Sea of Clouds" at Pico do Arieiro, explore the thatched houses of Santana, or find hidden local taverns, I can adapt the day to your goals. This experience can be tailored to your specific requests. Please let me know your preferences, and I will create a custom itinerary just for you! We’ll be exploring in my Land Rover Discovery, a rugged classic 4x4 built for the mountains. It’s the perfect vehicle for Madeira’s steep, winding roads and hidden viewpoints that standard tour buses simply can’t reach. A Note on Seating and Comfort: The Rover can technically accommodate up to 6 guests. However, please note that the two rear seats in the back face each other. These are great for kids or smaller adults, but they aren't ideal for taller guests on longer drives. I want you to be as comfortable as possible! For the best experience, I recommend a group of 4 adults, which allows everyone plenty of space to relax and enjoy the "unscripted" views

I want your day to be completely stress-free, so I will pick you up anywhere on Madeira. Whether you are staying in a hotel in Funchal, a cozy Airbnb in the mountains, or arriving at the Cruise Port, I will be there to meet you at your doorstep. For Cruise Guests: I will wait for you just outside the arrivals terminal, holding a sign with your name. For Hotel/Airbnb Guests: Please wait in the lobby or at the main entrance at our scheduled time.
