Visit Funchal in a Half Day Private Tour for Couples or Solo Travellers

My tour guide and local expert Valdemar Andrade was incredible. We spent two full days with him. One day on the west side of Maderia, and one day on the east side. He spoke very good English, and was able to tailor our tour based on our profile and our desires. He made recommendations to use our time effectively and get the most of the day. His knowledge of the island is just incredible. From it's history, to it's culture, to it's food, wine, vegetation, farming techniques, the "sea", the beaches, and he knew exactly where to be and when to avoid crowds and the large buses. Everything went seamlessly due to his attention to the details, while still being flexible based on our growing interests. The sights and sounds of the island were just incredible. Great tour. Valdemar was waiting for us at the port. By jeep we were able to go to places we wouldn't have seen in a large tour bus - small villages up winding narrow roads. We also got to take a short hike through a lovely pine forest along one of the canals. We felt like we were seeing the real Madeira. Valdemar is very personable, professional, truly knowledgeable & speaks great English. He answered all our questions about the island and the culture. We highly recommend this tour.

We had a great time in Madeira today with Valdemar. It was our first visit to the island and we got to see a lot: city and country, sea and mountains, north and south, long tunnels and narrow winding roads. Plus tasting the local wine and lessons in history, geology and economics. And recommendations for the evening in Funchal. Highly recommend.
