I like free diving and playing pool in my free time :) Since 2010 I am "working" in tourism as a tour guide, my expertise is in taking tours in 4X4 vehicles , I must say I had one of the best teachers in the business (40 years of experience) who worked in Africa and in Europe. We booked two full days with Miguel when our ship was docked overnight in Funchal. We had no idea we would love Madeira as much as we did! Miguel is very proud of and knowledgeable about the island he calls home. Over the course of two days, Miguel customized his tours so that we saw practically every inch of the island in his off-road vehicle. We could not have asked for a better experience! The tour was excellent and miguel was a great guide and driver
We hired Miguel for 2 Full Day tours back to back, and can’t say enough good things about him. He was very informative, entertaining and extremely accommodating. We never felt rushed, and felt he went above and beyond on every aspect of the tour. If we wanted to spend extra time at a particular place or do something different, his welcoming response was always, “Yes, yes, of course!” Our days always ran longer, due to our own curiosities, but he always encouraged us enjoy each moment, each amazing view, every off road trail, and a Poncha and a snack at a local shop each day. He took us to a very local typical Portuguese restaurant for grilled meats and it was our favorite meal of the trip. We enjoyed our time with him and his knowledge and hospitality so much that we hired him for an additional half day tour, which was another fantastic afternoon!
We could not recommend Miguel enough. He was incredibly kind and knowledgeable of the island. We always felt safe with Miguel. We enjoyed our first tour so much we booked our second with him. Highly recommend!
Miguel was an excellent guide and was proud to share his beautiful island with us. We had a lovely lunch overlooking the volcanic pools. Miguel took extra time to make sure to pick us up easily accommodate our accessible traveler and back to the boat on time.
Miguel is an outstanding guide. He is very knowledgeable about Madeira. He is quick to design a day which exceeded all our expectations from a beautiful levada walk to exploring towns. He is a pleasure to spend time with. Our highest rating!!
Starting from Funchal trough Câmara de Lobos, on our way to Ribeira Brava we are going to travel trough the old roads, in the morning we start in the southwestern coast , and have a stop for a drink, after we will continue our way up until the plateau to 1500m altitude were we will be above the clouds like in the aircraft :). After crossing on the plateau Paúl da Serra all the way to Porto Moniz will be in off-road! Here we are going to stop for Lunch and take a bath in the natural volcanic swimming pools. After our lunch we will drive along the northern coast villages and our guides will showcasing amazing sea cliffs with lush vegetation, among them you will see some of the best waterfalls on the island.
