Hidden Gems of the West with a Local

Antonio is a fantastic tour guide. He was extremely accommodating to our group's special needs. He was great about personalizing our tour to our specific priorities. He showed us a blend of must-see sights with off-the-beaten-path sights. We had an exhilarating ride on an off-road path. He knows the island extremely well, and is upbeat, fun and shares lots of great stories. I was initially concerned that our group of 6 would be too large for the jeep, but it was fine. I highly recommend any tour with Antonio. It was the highlight of our trip.

Wir hatten zwar nicht so viel Glück mit dem Wetter aber dafür mit dem guide. Es war ein echt toller Ausflug und Antonio hat uns mit Begeisterung einen Teil "seiner" Insel gezeigt. Er geht auch gerne auf eigene Wünsche ein. Danke für diesen tollen Tag!

Con Antonio hemos pasado un día maravilloso. Con él hemos disfrutamos de lugares mágicos. Nosotros venimos todos de Alemania, y en el Tour hemos podido apreciar la naturaleza oculta de esta bella Isla, sus tradiciones y costumbres. Un Tour que se diferencia completamente del turismo masivo y que recomendamos 100%. Sin lugar a dudas el mejor día de nuestra estadía en la Isla!.

Our tour was absolutely perfect. Antonio listened to what we were interested and totally delivered. He provided a lot of information about the fauna and history. He regularly checked in for feedback about if we were getting what we wanted (we were!). He did an amazing job avoiding the hot tourist spots at the peak traffic times and taking us to the “hidden gems” where there were few or no other tourists. He was a great and safe driver. He also took care to tailor our day based on getting the best weather possible throughout the day (important, since it changes fast!). For reference, we are traveling from the US and in our 40s, and we were most interested in fauna, beautiful water views, and cliffs. You should book a tour with him.

We were completely satisfied with Antonio’s tour of the western part of Madeira. We saw all the sights that were on our don’t-miss list and some things we didn’t even know about. Antonio was knowledgeable about the history of the island, and it was delightful spending the day with him. Most of all, for us, he was good humored about our stopping for pictures.
