Welcome to Paradise Island! My name is Ricardo! I'm a Madeira Island born and raised, in heart and blood, father of 2 beautiful kids! Worked in many things differently in my long 40+ years of life, and lived also in other parts of the world, but all that to make sure that this island is were I belong, and showing my place, the job is I love to do! Being in the tourism industry for a very long time, more than 20 years, made me acquire experience, but mostly provided me with the opportunity to know amazing people every day, and make many good friends! If you are looking for a local, to show you Madeira's best sights, the most known ones, or the less known in a relaxed funny and informal way, in my Jeep in which I have been very happy within the last 20 years. That's about the time I do Offroad as one of my favorite hobbies. My goal is to talk with you about my culture and the way I was brought up on this island, the difference between now and then and spend a good day together, eating, drinking and sightseeing (I don't drink alcohol while I work, but it would be available for you). Any of my tours can be customized and altered to your needs, and my car is registered in an official tour company so I can pick up inside the port or any hotel in the island for your commodity. Overview of your Funchal tour
Ready for a trip above the clouds and higher than you can imagine? Up the mountain, through Funchal's hillside, we will jump on my jeep up to the 3rd highest peak of the island, Pico do Areiro for an amazing view usually above the clouds at 1818 mts altitude. Get the camera ready for this! We will take the roads to Santana, passing tough Ribeiro Frio and we will take a walk through a small part of a Levada for about 30 minutes, discover walking through this amazing area. All this will be complemented with a visit to a traditional house that keeps the original characteristics of the typical houses of Santana, featuring a thatched roof, in this village where we will have some lunch! In the afternoon we will get back through the coastal part of the east taking you to the far eastern tip of Madeira and see the amazing cliffs of Ponta de são lourenço in caniçal fishing village area. This tour will show you the best of the region, amazing views and traditional living. Tours could be customized to your needs.👍

A fantastic day of sightseeing and adventure. If you want to get away from the tourist humdrum and see the real Madeira, this is the perfect trip. Ricardo was amazing. Being born and raised on the island, who knows every secret waterfall and takes you off the beaten track to meet and get a feel of the traditional culture, including drinking spots and fantastic local restaurants serving food you'd never find on TripAdvisor! The best day of our holiday, and we'll definitely be using Ricardo again.

Ricardo was an excellent guide. He made you feel welcomed to his homeland and shared many of its secrets with us. He took us to a small bar for the best apple cider on the island and had us smell many of the wonderful spices growing along the sides of the roads. Once he realized that we liked cliffs, he even added an extra stop to more cliffs!! They were stunning, water on both sides. I highly recommend a trip with Ricardo if you want to experience the best of Madieria!!!

Your Funchal tour itinerary
Cruising through the Laurisilva forest, visiting the highest peak of Madeira that is possible to reach by car, Pico do Areeiro at 1818mt altitude. From there we will take our way to go on the north side of Madeira descending trough Ribeiro Frio between the Laurisilva Forest and when we are at Ribeiro Frio we can do (optional) a little walk on a Levada, to reach the amazing balcões viewpoint. We will descend by faial and cruzinhas until we reach also do the tracks and muddy off-road all the way to Santana, to visit also the village were the traditional houses are, and have Lunch just before in the afternoon come back by the coast trough Faial and Porto da Cruz area, passing all the way from north to south to Machico so we can go and visit the amazing cliffs of Ponta de são Lourenço in the Caniçal area. Our plan on this day for a fun day, exploring the contrasts of the Northeastern part of Madeira! The itinerary can be customised according to your preferences, please inquire
