This was an incredible tour & Carlos was an incredible guide! Everything was as described which ended up perfect since it was my birthday! Started off the tour seeing the Milky Way and I was able to make a wish on a shooting star as well. The climb up was a little challenging for me but Carlos encouraged me along the whole way & stopped for breaks (& photos) when needed. The view from the top was breathtaking but made more memorable by drinking tea with Carlos as we watched the sunrise.

Carlos is definitely very passionate about his job and it reflected in the way he carried out the tour . An amazing adventure from the get go! It started with a drive through a misty winding road (scary and exhilarating at the same time, and Carlos was a pro). Then there was the trek under a breathtaking night sky filled with stars. And finally, the beautiful sunrise with fluffy clouds. As one local whom we met at the top said, "manifique". Wouldn't be possible without Carlos' planning. Loved every minute of it!

* Pick up in any location on Funchal * Drive to trail, around 1 hour * Hike to Pico Ruivo Peak (depends on your speed, normally takes less than 1 hour) * Hike back to the car (less than 1 hour) * Detour for some viewpoints on the way back (Santana Houses, Machico, Caniçal and Caniço) * Back to the starting point Please contact me for customization

In the Private Tour we are going to use a gray Citroen C4, with 5 seats or Toyota Avensis Verso with 7 seats or Volkswagen Transporter with 9 seats. You can request any of them, if available. All are very comfortable. If you want a better car, I'm able to get a larger passenger van for groups above five people. Just contact me for details and a quote.
