A warm welcome to the Netherlands and to Amsterdam. Both for work and in private I have seen quite a lot of the world, so I know what a traveller is looking for: an authentic experience, a good understanding of a place and, above all, a pleasant time. You are cordially invited to join me on one of my tours. They are often a bit off the beaten track and reflect my working experience and interest in architecture, nature, culture, and the spiritual. I know Amsterdam very well and I'll be happy to show you some hidden pearls. Beside Amsterdam the Netherlands has much more to offer: beautiful beaches, traditional fishing villages along the IJsselmeer, a peaceful countryside, interesting waterworks and ten (!) Unesco Heritage sites. I am a freelancer and live on walking distance from Amsterdam Central Station and the Cruise terminal, so I am flexible in starting time and pick up location. My participants praise my enthusiastic and at the same time calm appearance. Overview of your Amsterdam tour
Have your already seen the big three: Van Gogh, Rijks and Stedelijk Museum? I invite you to explore some other wonderful museums. We will make an easy walk from one to the other, and I'll show you different highlights along the way. My suggestion for the program: * Scheepvaartmuseum - located in the former National Sea Warehouse and containing the second largest maritime collection in the world, including a replica of the VOC-ship Amsterdam that was wrecked on its first journey in 1749. * H'ART Museum - thematic art exhibitions and Amsterdam Art. * Museum Willet-Holthuysen - a traditional Canal House (1685) and garden. Listen to stories about art collectors Abraham Willet and Louisa Holthuysen, who lived here at the end of the 19th Century. The tour will include a break. Maybe you want to try a koffie verkeerd (wrong coffee) with traditional apple pie?
