Private walking tour Amsterdam

Our tour of central Amsterdam with Yvonne was all we could have hoped for. Her knowledge, presentation and communication made for the ideal introduction to the rich culture of the city. She asked good questions and translated answers into a personal, focused and enjoyable tour that had many aspects beyond the usual spots of interest while not neglecting high points. One of our party was somewhat mobility challenged. Yvonne seamlessly integrated the required the pace and at no time did any of us feel we were shortchanged in the process. We would strongly recommend Yvonne to anyone looking for a tailored, entertaining and knowledgable introduction to the city!

Great tour and very knowledgeable.

My wife and I had never travelled to Amsterdam and spending the morning with Yvonne was the perfect introduction to the history, architecture and culture of this city. We had a walking tour and the pace was set by our interest level and where we wanted to explore. Yvonne was fabulous and we would highly recommend her tour to anyone visiting Amsterdam. We found it fascinating the connection between Amsterdam and NYC and was also quite surprised by the overwhelming number of bikes in the city. This tour allowed us to appreciate why we will consider a return trip to Amsterdam and Yvonne was the key.

Yvonne was exactly what we were hoping for in a tour guide. Very personable, went at our pace, really interesting information about the history of Amsterdam as well as present day Amsterdam. And her tour had great benefits the rest of our stay because she gave us great recommendations for local food and shopping options, she helped us avoid commercialized tourist vendors.

A wonderful tour guide.

We can not say enough about Yvonne and the walking tour she took us on! She picked an easy and convenient meeting place as we were taking the train in from Utrecht. Her knowledge of Amsterdam and its history was impressive and we felt comfortable asking lots of questions. She tied the history of Amsterdam to broader regional and global history and events. As we were leery of crowded Amsterdam streets, Yvonne did a great job making sure we saw the highlights but also spent time in the less crowded places and, at our request, focused on architecture and history of urban development. We really appreciated her response to the few questions she didn't know the answer to - she emailed us the information the next day! We are walkers, and Yvonne set a nice pace allowing us to cover a lot of ground getting a great introduction to the city. We have done other guided tours and feel like sometimes the guides have a set route and information they deliver and our willingness to keep walking and to keep up the pace make them run out of material too early. Not Yvonne, she had so much information and observations to share! We highly recommend her and had a very memorable day.
