Hi my name is Elke. As your personal driver and tour guide I offer unique excursions to the Dutch country side. All my excursions are carefully designed to provide the most authentic and genuine experience of the Dutch landscape as possible. I have been a citizen of Amsterdam for 20 years now and have always been exploring its inner and outer surroundings, on foot, by bike and by car. The Netherlands, as the English say, is where "God created the world, but the Dutch created Holland." To keep water at bay, we drained our land, sinking it further in a paradox: we must keep pumping water out to survive, yet we sink deeper with each effort. Many things iconic to the Netherlands—windmills, ditches, green pastures, and charming villages—are tied to this battle with water. On this tour, we’ll explore villages like Edam, historic windmills, reclaimed lands, and the Afsluitdijk, a massive dike that turned a sea into a freshwater lake. Discover the ingenuity behind this ever-evolving landscape!
Elke was a fantastic guide! We had a lovely and wonderful tour of the countryside of Holland. She knows not only the history, but enjoys birding so pulled out the binoculars when she thought we could find some nice birds to view. She is very personable. We highly recommend Elke for a tour!
Elke was amazing. The trip was well paced and planned perfectly. She is very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions, ranging from historical stories, windmill mechanisms and Dutch modern culture. She made our day memorable and enjoyable. I also had a personal request to visit do "Cows Hugging" which Elke customized our trip and ensured that we had a wonderful experiencing visiting a local family dairy farm and I had a great time hugging cows. Highly recommend.

I drive a ford Galaxy from 2010, a spacious vehicle. Easy to step into with plenty of leg space and big windows all around for a good panoramic view! For a bigger party up to 7/8 people I can rent a mini van for a surcharge.
