Arun was a fantastic guide: very knowledgeable, personable and flexible. He has an interesting background. We learned so much about Amsterdam's history and culture, and appreciated the stories he told. Arun definitely kept our attention as we adjusted to the time change after an overnight flight from the US. I would highly recommend Arun.
The guide had the most in-depth knowledge of any guide I have ever used ( this includes South America, Japan & Africa). During the tour, he combines history with fun historical and local antidotes. He goes at your speed. Highly recommend.
Arun was a superb guide for the four of us, and provided us with a great introduction to Amsterdam. He has obviously done his homework as he has an encyclopedic knowledge of the city's history and attractions. and presents it in a clear an engaging manner. He was also very attentive to our needs, including smart time-management and ensuring we saw everything we wanted to see. Highest recommendation.
Walking around with Arun was like spending thr day with your local friend who is excited to show you what you want to see and tell you all about it. He is so knowledgeable and passionate about his city and I had such a good time seeing it with him.
Arun did a wonderful job connecting all the sites to their historic setting. We learned a great deal about the history of the Netherlands in general and Amsterdam in particular. I would strongly recommend his tour as a great introduction to the city. He is also a published author with a strong background in literature related to the city, and that made his commentary even more interesting. We have now done several tours by locals and he ranks among our very best guides.
Arun was thoughtful and thorough in showing us all the hidden details of the city. I was specifically interested in learning about the city’s spice trade to Asia and he was prepared to regale us with stories, historical characters and unique aspects of that trading port. We saw details about the city that we had missed, and came away loving Amsterdam even more. He was flexible and accommodating to our three generation’s needs. We highly recommend engaging him as a tour guide for the city.
