A warm welcome to the Netherlands and to Amsterdam. Both for work and in private I have seen quite a lot of the world, so I know what a traveller is looking for: an authentic experience, a good understanding of a place and, above all, a pleasant time. You are cordially invited to join me on one of my tours. They are often a bit off the beaten track and reflect my working experience and interest in architecture, nature, culture, and the spiritual. I know Amsterdam very well and I'll be happy to show you some hidden pearls. Beside Amsterdam the Netherlands has much more to offer: beautiful beaches, traditional fishing villages along the IJsselmeer, a peaceful countryside, interesting waterworks and ten (!) Unesco Heritage sites. I am a freelancer and live on walking distance from Amsterdam Central Station and the Cruise terminal, so I am flexible in starting time and pick up location. My participants praise my enthusiastic and at the same time calm appearance. I am looking forward to your enquiry and please know that I am always willing to adapt a tour to your personal preferences. Come as a client, leave as a friend. Tot ziens! Kyra - Urban planner and landscape architect - Certified tourmanager with ANVR, Dutch Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators. - Tour guiding experience in 15+ countries. - First Aid Diplom Please notice that I don't own a car. If necessary I can rent a car, we can take a taxi or use the excellent public transport. But to be honest: my favourite modes of transport are walking and biking!

Amsterdam has a reputation for sex, drugs and rock & roll. But there is an open, quiet and spiritual side as well. This might be the reason that for many centuries people from all different countries and backgrounds feel at home here. Do you have an open mind, without any religious bias? Then I cordially invite you for an easy walk and visit to several magical places in Amsterdam. I'll explain what we see and also share some of my personal experiences: from buddhism in India to writing a book on magic mushrooms. We will visit the Basilica of St. Nicolas, patron of the sailors. Furthermore a Protestant, Jesuit and Catholic church, a Buddhist temple, and a Synagogue. But you will also walk parts of the pilgrimage 'The Miracle of Amsterdam'. Come and feel the magic of Amsterdam for yourself! We will enjoy a break for coffee/tea on the way. And if you want I can drop you at the end of the tour at a 'coffeeshop', the place where you can officially buy weed and hashish. . .
Start the walking tour at Amsterdam Central Station • Visit to the Basilica of St. Nicolas • Pass by the oldest building in town • Visit to the Old Church (1306) in the heart of the Red Light District • Pass by the Buddhist temple Fo Guang Shan • Pass by the 17th Century Jewish Synagogue Coffee/tea break • Visit De Krijtberg Jesuit church • Visit to the quiet Beguinage and English Church • Walking part of the pilgrimage 'Miracle of Amsterdam' • Pass by statue 'Het Lieverdje' • Pass by the Westerkerk church and Anne Frank house • Tea or coffee in a 'coffeeshop' • Walk back to the station If you want, I am happy to customize the tour for you. Please inquire for a quote.
