Hello, I'm Jan. Welcome to Amsterdam and The Netherlands! I've graduated in public administration at Leiden University. I have a big passion for history since I was a teenager and developed a strong interest in European painting and it's history in the last 15 years. I've been doing tours in and around Amsterdam for over 13 years. After all these years I still discover new things in Amsterdam and find out new things about it's history, which makes it such a great place. I provide tours of Amsterdam, it's surroundings (flower fields in April, countryside, windmills, Brussels). I do tours on foot, on ordinary bikes, on my rickshaw, by minivan and if preferred so in combinations of walking and by boat or minivan. Amsterdam is great and unique. Besides the things most people associate with it, there is a lot else you might not have noticed before or read about. Of course I will customize tours. So if you have specific interests or you would like to combine elements of several tours please let me know and I will make a customized proposal. I'm a traveler myself. I have been traveling to the USA, India, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, Mexico, Egypt, Russia, China and a lot of places in Europe. I'm always curious to discover new places and meet people from all over the world, which is a great advantage of my work. The best way to see the highlights of Amsterdam in a short time!
Overview of your Amsterdam tour
The ideal way to see Amsterdam for couples with limited mobility! In just 2 hours we pass by all the major scenic points in the historic heart of Amsterdam: many scenic canal intersections and views on the canals, many characteristic 16th, 17th and 18th century buildings, and the main scenic squares (Rembrandt Square, Museumsquare, Nieuwmarkt). I'll explain a lot about the city. The rickshaw is able to enter many alleyways and streets where the cars can not, we climb the highest bridges with the most scenic views on the canals. It is able to reach off-the water locations where boats are not able to get into. In case it would start raining I will close the transparent rain cover and you will still be able to see all the scenic points. Of course, I explain you about the city, it's history and present.

Had a great tour with Jan. Using the rickshaw really allowed us to see much more than we would have in a walking tour of the same time frame. Allowed you to move from one location to the next quickly which in turn meant spending more time at each location learning about the history/story of the landmark. It also allowed us time to get to and walk thru the open air market. Had a great time here shopping for some souvenirs for the family. Jan was a wealth information about all of the big items but also had some great info about some more obscure items and histroy of Amsterdam. Would highly recommend Jan's tour.

Jan is a delight! He drove us throughout Amsterdam on his rickshaw. We were able to hop out and walk through interesting sites. He was very patient with is as we move rather slowly. My gosh, he knows the history of the city and took is past innumerable places. We were able to slide in and out of areas in the rickshaw that cars would be unable to maneuver. We thoroughly enjoyed our hours with Jan and his wealth of Amsterdam knowledge. We highly recommend using his service.

Jan, was great. He must at the cruise terminal, spent two plus hours in his ped-a-cab, and took us back to the terminal in time for us to cruise on....fun time.
