Hi! Welcome to everybody! I'm Fausta and I have been working as a professional tourist guide in Milan since 1997. I'm also official tourist guide of Lake Como, the medioeval town of Bergamo, the longobard town of Monza, and I'm tour leader as well. According to the new law n. 190 dated 13th December 2023, as national tourist guide I can offer you also guided tours in other towns like Pavia , Cremona, Genoa and Savona (Liguria). Regarding Milan . . . . I'm a real "local" , since I was born in Milan in 1970 and I've seen my hometown growing up, developing and becoming a real European Capital in the last years. Now, I can see my 3 children (the oldest one is 22 years old) getting the most of it and I can see how many opportunities Milan is giving them as well. I love my job! I love meeting people coming from different countries, showing them my city and getting to know about their places. I want my guests to discover Italy as travellers, not as tourists. That's why I'm trying to comunicate all my love and knowledges "as local" to visitors. I'm very proud of my birthcountry and its Dolce Vita style! Milan is the most international and open-minded city of Italy. It's the capital of Italian fashion, interior design, opera (i. e. the Scala operahouse and Casa Verdi where the composer Giuseppe Verdi is buried) and - by the way - also of alcoholic drinks (did you know that the first factory Campari was located at the boundaries of Milan and still nowadays -downtown - we have the historical cafè Camparino?). Milan was the capital of the West Roman Empire, a renaissance town in XV Cent. (that's why Leonardo da Vinci lived in Milan 20 years!) , an industrial town at the began of the XX Cent. (ie Pirelli factory), but now Milan has become a contemporary town, for which "archistars" like Zaha Hadid, Daniel Liebeskind , Cesar Pelli, Boeri designed a new skyline or new projects like the Bosco Verticale (Vertical Wood). I've seen and do see these changes every single day! What about Genoa and Savona ? As most of "milaneses" I have been spending my summer holidays since childhood in Liguria, and I am still doing it ! So please don't hesitate to get in contact with me even if you don't see my avaiability on the web-site, I might be in Spotorno and reach you in less than 1 hour to show you both the wonderful historical maritime republics! I studied and I am still studying hard to get my several qualifications. I keep on following refresher courses to be able to communicate to everybody the real soul of the northern part of Italy, because I do think that tourism is a right for everybody, no matter what kind of special needs you may deserve or which sense is the best for you to get to know the world. Regarding special needs or multisensorial tours, do not hesitate to let me know. I'll prepare the best tailor-made tour according to your needs! Hoping to see you soon . . . . Ciao! - Licensed tourist guide of Milan (since 1995), Monza (since 1995), Bergamo (since 1997), Como (since 2015) - Licensed tour guide/tour leader (since 1997) - Licensed professional guide in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian. - National Tourist Guide since 13th december 2023 according to the law n. 190. - Course for Heritage Interpretation (March 2017). - Course for guiding mental and physical disabled guests (February 2016). - Course for guiding blind and partially sighted guests ( December 2020 - January 2021). - Course "Switch on tourism " for accessible tourism - tourism for all (March - May 2021). - Graduation in modern foreign languages and literature (1993). I am not a driver. I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Overview of your Genoa tour

For over eight centuries the town was the capital of a powerful Maritime Republic, one of the leading States in Europe and its greatness is still to be admired today! We'll have a walking tour through the historical town , the largest in Europe. The best way to discover Genoa is getting lost in the typical "carruggi" (narrow pedestrian street) and -all of a sudden-stumbling into a baroque church or being overwhelmed by the imposing black and white facade of the Cathedral. Not to be missed is Palazzo Ducale (the Doge's palace) and Strada Nuova with its Rolli palaces -UNESCO World Heritage- dating back to XVI Cent. : here the richiest families of Genua were hosting the important guests of the Republic. A look at the old harbour (completely restored in 1992 by the archistar Renzo Piano) will help us to understand the story of Genoa and its maritime "empire" . Please don't hesitate to contact me from 8th July up to 15 th August. I wont't be avaiable for Milan , but fully at your disposal for Genoa and Savona!!

Your Genoa tour itinerary

Walking tour through : -Piazza San Lorenzo (cathedral) - Strada Nuova - Carruggi - Ducal palace - one baroque church (according to the opening times) - Old Harbour ** The tour is absolutely flexible: according to your wishes we can skip some places and visit the inside of one Rolli Palace , or spend more time in the harbour area. It's a walking tour: : comfortable shoes are recommended. Umbrella or raincoat are recommenden in case of rain . Sun hat and sun cream + 1 bottle of water are highly recommended in summer time. To visit the churches : shoulders covered and no shorts or miniskirts (lenght up to knees). The tour will last no more than 3 hours because - I can assure you - after 3 hours walking you'll want to relax. In summer time - due to the heat - an early start is to be suggested (i. e. 9 am)
