Buongiorno from Genoa! My name is Sandra, thank you for visiting my profile! I am a professional guide working in Genoa, the Italian Riviera and surroundings. I have travelled in different countries for pleasure and work and in the end I fell in love with Liguria, what an unexpected land! I have worked in the tourism industry since 1988, being based in Genoa since 1991, when I became a licensed Tour Leader. I have been working since 2003, as a licensed Tourist Guide, in the city of Columbus and Pesto sauce. I have been living, in this tiny corner of Italy, squeezed between mountains and sea, for decades. Liguria is where I have found my happiness. I consider care in details, empathy, flexibility and a capacity for sharing, to be as valuable qualities for a guide, no less so than having a proper regularly updated cultural preparation. I want to be your host and share with you this beautiful territory. My skills and expertise have been refined over the years and my current activities include giving guided tours in Genova, the surrounding areas and the Italian Riviera. My hobbies include travel, cinema, environment, home style. Being me Italian I love high quality food and wine and being originally from Veneto, I love sparkling bubbling Prosecco! Overview of your Genoa tour
Your private tour takes you to discover the surroundings of your ship's port of call: Portofino and the Italian Riviera plus Genoa. We meet at Genoa's Maritime Terminal and by private car we reach the Riviera by highway and coastal road. Driving along the roman via Aurelia you enjoy the view on sea cliffs and on a promontory rich in vegetation and dotted by exclusive mansions and traditional houses. We pass through the charming coastal village of Santa Margherita: not only the gate to Portofino but a place of painted colorful "trompe l'oeil" facades and unexpected baroque churches. We visit Portofino, one of the wonders of the world, wrapped by the green and the blue of a breathtaking nature and the sparkling boutiques. A pause and a snack will be done during the tour. Back to Genoa and after a panoramic driving, we reach the medieval part of the city where we see the house of Christopher Columbus, Palazzo Ducale, Piazza De Ferrari, Cathedral San Lorenzo and Rolli palaces before driving back to the port.

Highly recommend booking with Sandra! She is very experienced and it was well worth it to go with her suggestions during the tour to maximize our limited time in this port. We were celebrating our 40th anniversary on this trip, and she took extra advance planning time to make sure we had a special visit in Portofino. She selected an excellent car with an exceptional driver. This was a fantastic shore excursion and we learned so much. We thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant she suggested after the tour!

Sandra was well informed. Tour was good but not up to what I have come to expect from TBL. It was little things that disappointed. It was extremely hot. Guide never once offered water or planned for water stops/access. I had to say I needed to get water and went to find a store). Much walking in hot sun. Guide pulled out her own umbrella while 4 of us braved direct sun. Again - good but not TBL great (we did 3 more tours after this one - within the same week-all with TLB; all were exceptional!!!

October 20, 2022 Tours by Local Sandra Mazzucato Tours by Local Guide, Sandra Mazzucato is very knowledgeable about Genova important sights. During our private full day tour, we were escorted in a new luxury Mercedes van by a very competent driver, Alesandro, We were picked up on time at our accommodations in the old section of Genova. We had a comprehensive overview of important sights in downtown and the port area then travelled to Portofino, and Santa Margherita .

•Highway driving to the Italian Riviera •Panoramic driving at the Tigullio Gulf passing through Rapallo and San Michele di Pagana •Visit of Santa Margherita village with pedestrian alleys and the baroque church of Our Lady of the Rose •Visit of Portofino with the famous Piazzetta, the alleys and the panoramic terrace by the church of San George. •Driving tour of the highlights of Genoa including the old walls and the modern districts. •Photo stop at the house of Columbus, Palazzo Ducale, Piazza De Ferrari and Strada Nuova (Rolli Palaces) are part of the walking tour. •A pause for snack and refreshments will be done during the tour. Please note: the order of the visits can change according to the highway traffic and the tour program can be modified to suit your preferences. Comfortable shoes are necessary. Uneven soil in Genoa (pedestrian area) and Portofino. Coastal roads with some curves. The tour can be customized with a longer duration and/or customized by van (more comfort or more capacity needs)
