Buongiorno from Genoa! My name is Sandra, thank you for visiting my profile! I am a professional guide working in Genoa, the Italian Riviera and surroundings. I have travelled in different countries for pleasure and work and in the end I fell in love with Liguria, what an unexpected land! I have worked in the tourism industry since 1988, being based in Genoa since 1991, when I became a licensed Tour Leader. I have been working since 2003, as a licensed Tourist Guide, in the city of Columbus and Pesto sauce. I have been living, in this tiny corner of Italy, squeezed between mountains and sea, for decades. Liguria is where I have found my happiness. I consider care in details, empathy, flexibility and a capacity for sharing, to be as valuable qualities for a guide, no less so than having a proper regularly updated cultural preparation. I want to be your host and share with you this beautiful territory. My skills and expertise have been refined over the years and my current activities include giving guided tours in Genova, the surrounding areas and the Italian Riviera. My hobbies include travel, cinema, environment, home style. Being me Italian I love high quality food and wine and being originally from Veneto, I love sparkling bubbling Prosecco! We meet at Genoa's Maritime Terminal. After a panoramic taxi ride your private walking tour will take you through the city of merchants and bankers, to the art and architecture of our past, to the melting-pot of the city. Let me guide you to the way spots and come face-to face with local artisans and shop owners, only few steps from the easy tourist attractions. Let me show you the ways to the hidden treasures and the sumptuous Rolli's Palaces of Strada Nuova, Unesco World Heritage Patrimony and we won't miss the house of Christopher Columbus, Palazzo Ducale, Cathedral San Lorenzo and Castelletto for the best "panorama". Genoa of the "golden age" and Genoa "here and now". A typical snack will be offered during the morning.
Sandra is a very patient guide who gave us a thorough tour of Genoa, mainly the old part of the city which is steeped in so much history. She was able to accommodate our particular needs and spoke in a clear and concise manner. We even experienced the best cappuccino in Genoa with her. We came away from the tour much more learned than when we began. A fascinating tour from a lady who is passionate about Genoa and it's history.
