Hello! My name is Fabrizia, I was born in Genoa and I am a licensed tour guide from 2012. I work and study with devotion to discover the unusual aspects of my city, viewed from a different perspective. I have a Master's Degree in Slavic Languages and Literatures (Polish and Russian). I studied several years abroad: in the nineties I spent almost ten years living abroad in Russia, Poland and Israel. When I came back to Genoa, in early 2000, my growing interest for arts and local history, along with a deep interest in working with people, let me focalize on studying jobs united with tourism. I studied once again at university, this time Art History and Local History. From 2012, when I became a licensed tour guide, I was involved with several projects pertaining the artistic heritage of Genoa, including the Festival of Poetry, the Festival of Science, and tours relating to the Genoese monumental cemetery of Staglieno. Since I love to travel with my family, I also realized several family-friendly tours. Throughout my years of humanistic studies, I have developed a passion for Jewish culture. For this reason, I have realized a project called "Genoa Unveiled" dedicated to Genoese Jewish cultural sites. Hope to see you soon in Genoa and to show you the treasures of my beautiful city! I am a licensed tour guide for the Province of Genoa (Liguria) and a licensed tour leader. I am not a driver. I can arrange for a separate car and driver. I am not a licensed hiking guide.

If you are interested in a local cultural tour experience, this is the right choice for you! We will discover anonymous works of art which will tell us the personal history of the families who lived there and the interesting connections between Genovese merchants and the rest of the world. The devotional altars in the old city are beloved symbols of the past and perfect objects to shoot. During this itinerary I will show you the heart of Genoa, through local citizens' eyes!
We will explore the historic centre just in front of the old port area discovering the intense and deep beauty of the devotional marble statues (called "Madonnette") situated at the crossroads of the narrow Genovese alleys. Church hours permitting, this walking tour also includes visits to: - the gothic cathedral of Saint Lorenzo - the Baroque Chiesa del Gesù (Jesus' name Church) where we will admire tow Rubens' paintings - Palazzo Ducale and its Grimaldina Tower - the steep and narrow alleys of the old city called "caruggi" - some of the most beautiful facades of the private noble palaces which are UNESCO's heritage Included in the tour, I will offer you another speciality of Genoa, which is not an art masterpiece but a real delight: the incredible salty flavor of our local bread, focaccia, which we will taste in one of the traditional bakeries. If you have specific interests or needs, just contact me and I will adapt the tour at your requests.
