Hello! My name is Fabrizia, I was born in Genoa and I am a licensed tour guide from 2012. I work and study with devotion to discover the unusual aspects of my city, viewed from a different perspective. I have a Master's Degree in Slavic Languages and Literatures (Polish and Russian). I studied several years abroad: in the nineties I spent almost ten years living abroad in Russia, Poland and Israel. When I came back to Genoa, in early 2000, my growing interest for arts and local history, along with a deep interest in working with people, let me focalize on studying jobs united with tourism. I studied once again at university, this time Art History and Local History. From 2012, when I became a licensed tour guide, I was involved with several projects pertaining the artistic heritage of Genoa, including the Festival of Poetry, the Festival of Science, and tours relating to the Genoese monumental cemetery of Staglieno. Since I love to travel with my family, I also realized several family-friendly tours. Throughout my years of humanistic studies, I have developed a passion for Jewish culture. For this reason, I have realized a project called "Genoa Unveiled" dedicated to Genoese Jewish cultural sites. Hope to see you soon in Genoa and to show you the treasures of my beautiful city! I am a licensed tour guide for the Province of Genoa (Liguria) and a licensed tour leader. I am not a driver. I can arrange for a separate car and driver. I am not a licensed hiking guide.

This tour offers a tailor-made experience and includes, at your choice, the visit to the area of the former ghetto in the old city, the visit of the New Synagogue in Bertora St. and of the Jewish Cemetery at the Monumental Cemetery of Staglieno. I will show you the places which were connected, through the centuries, to the genoese Jewish Community, which was very different from the others nearby, and what remains from it. Jewish culture and heritage represent the main interest of my studies since I was in University. I will be pleased to show you, through local eyes, the hidden Jewish traces in Genoa.
The ghetto was established in the heart of the the medieval city. From the end of 17th century, Jews lived in different quarters of the old centre of Genoa and their influence on the history of the Genoese Republic was very strong. By choosing this tour you have the chance to visit the historic centre of Genoa and the main areas close to it. The Jewish sites in Genoa we will visit are: - the area of the former ghetto in the old city - the New Synagogue in Bertora street (the Temple can be visited only on request. If you want to book a visit to the Genoese Synagogue, write to me at least 2 weeks before the tour) - The old Jewish section of the Cemetery of Staglieno This tour is not available on Saturday. I can customize it at your choice (we can visit only the Cemetery or only the old Jewish sites for example). Just let me know and I will send you some different possibilities!
