Hello! My name is Fabrizia, I was born in Genoa and I am a licensed tour guide from 2012. I work and study with devotion to discover the unusual aspects of my city, viewed from a different perspective. I have a Master's Degree in Slavic Languages and Literatures (Polish and Russian). I studied several years abroad: in the nineties I spent almost ten years living abroad in Russia, Poland and Israel. When I came back to Genoa, in early 2000, my growing interest for arts and local history, along with a deep interest in working with people, let me focalize on studying jobs united with tourism. I studied once again at university, this time Art History and Local History. From 2012, when I became a licensed tour guide, I was involved with several projects pertaining the artistic heritage of Genoa, including the Festival of Poetry, the Festival of Science, and tours relating to the Genoese monumental cemetery of Staglieno. Since I love to travel with my family, I also realized several family-friendly tours. Throughout my years of humanistic studies, I have developed a passion for Jewish culture. For this reason, I have realized a project called "Genoa Unveiled" dedicated to Genoese Jewish cultural sites. Hope to see you soon in Genoa and to show you the treasures of my beautiful city! Fabrizia is terrific. She knows Genovese history, art and architecture, and presents material at your interest level. Oh, and she also knows food, both culturally and restaurants. And then she helped my wife with her shopping needs..... again tailoring her presentation to her interests. Her demeanor is delightful. We highly recommend Fabrizia.
Genoa is a vibrant, busy, beautiful city that Fabrizia helped us appreciate so much with her amazing tour! We walked with her for 5 miles in the blazing heat but we would do it all again gladly. The meeting point can be the cruise port or any hotel in the centre or outside the centre, just let me know and we will organize a private transport if you prefer. I will take you first to the historic centre (by public transport or on foot), to show you the oldest sites in the city, where you will admire: - the imposing façade of our cathedral of San Lorenzo - the Palace of the Doge - the narrow steep medieval alleys (called "caruggi" here in Genoa). - the most amazing interiors of the city's churches - the most beautiful noble palaces, UNESCO'S heritage since 2006 - the medieval gate, Porta Soprana After reaching the modern centre, there will be time for a gorgeous snack: I will offer you a tasting of the famous salty local bread "focaccia" by one of my favourite bakeries in town. The tour can be customized on request.
