Buongiorno from Genoa! My name is Sandra, thank you for visiting my profile! I am a professional guide working in Genoa, the Italian Riviera and surroundings. I have travelled in different countries for pleasure and work and in the end I fell in love with Liguria, what an unexpected land! I have worked in the tourism industry since 1988, being based in Genoa since 1991, when I became a licensed Tour Leader. I have been working since 2003, as a licensed Tourist Guide, in the city of Columbus and Pesto sauce. I have been living, in this tiny corner of Italy, squeezed between mountains and sea, for decades. Liguria is where I have found my happiness. I consider care in details, empathy, flexibility and a capacity for sharing, to be as valuable qualities for a guide, no less so than having a proper regularly updated cultural preparation. I want to be your host and share with you this beautiful territory. My skills and expertise have been refined over the years and my current activities include giving guided tours in Genova, the surrounding areas and the Italian Riviera. My hobbies include travel, cinema, environment, home style. Being me Italian I love high quality food and wine and being originally from Veneto, I love sparkling bubbling Prosecco! My goal is to help you to live and to understand this peculiar city of Genoa and its surroundings and to leave you with terrific, life-long memories. I look forward to welcoming you soon! I am a licensed professional Tourist Guide and Tour Leader for Genoa and surroundings. I am member of AGTL, the local regional Association for Tourist Guides. I am a member of AGTA, the National Association of Tourist Guides. I hold a EU Green Pass / COVID19 certificate as vaccinated person. I am not a driver. I can arrange for a separate car and driver. I am not a licensed hiking guide

A private tour of the Porto Antico to discover the main reason for Genoa's existence and its surroundings. We look for the traces of the "prime move" more than two thousand years ago, of the first harbor companies, the warehouses and the former merchants houses and private squares. The real headquarters of the first private companies of the medieval Mediterranean. Afterwards the new port, still the engine of the local economy today. We see it close up and from a distance, the ships, the port operations, the piers, the men who work there. The lighthouse: our witness our oldest symbol, watching and warning of the presence of the port since the 12th century, is one of the tallest and oldest in the Mediterranean still in use. We reach it by a walking route dense in history, following the traces of the 17th century walls and enter the Savoy's fortress at its base. Test yourself with the 172 steps to reach the terrace of the lighthouse, for a breathtaking view over the city and the entire gulf.
•Porto Antico - introduction of the area •Palazzo San Giorgio, the former credit institution (outside visit) •Medieval alleys and former merchants houses. •Lanterna monumental complex ( inside and outside visit old fortress and lighthouse) •Panoramic view of the port operative area Please note: Moderate amount of walking. No wheelchair access. The promenade to the Lanterna upon the operating areas of the port is approx. 800m/0. 5 miles long and is not suitable for people with walking difficulties. 172 steps to climb to the lighthouse panoramic balcony. Operating days: every day from Tuesday to Sunday. This tour can be customized and/or be part of a full day tour.
