Hi everybody! My name is Francesca and I live in Genoa (Genova in Italian!), where I was born. I have a degree in Geology and licenses as a city guide and hiking guide. I worked for an oilfield company for few years long time ago, but I am working as a guide already since 30 years and collaborate with TBL since more than 10 years! I am always enthusiastic to meet new people and to involve them in the knowledge of my native region, Liguria. I like meeting new guests, walking with them, telling them about the nature and the history. . . cooking with them!! I am specialized in Genoa, but also in the Italian Riviera (Portofino, Camogli, Monterosso and many hidden little towns!)... Do you like to discover more about you ancestors in Liguria? Let me know, we can plan a research with a genealogist! Do you like to learn about the real ingredients for authentic local recipes, like pesto or focaccia genovese? We can go together to the market! Do you like to visit a private palace with incredible painted ceilings and great facilities?...why not? We can easily plan a customized tour: I am a certified, but I am not a driver, so I can arrange a vehicle if required or a cooking class or a tasting! Francesca

Walk with me through the medieval history of Genoa! Few steps around to know something more about a city full of history, connected with the one of the more famous Venice and Pisa and where you can still admire ancient building, gardens, painted facades. . . . but not only: Genova is a "layered" city, so you can walk by a building of the XV century and having a coffee, in the same building, in an old pastry shop of the XIX century. . . I think the first time in a city needs to give you a taste of the architecture, the food, the local people life of today and of the past: Genova is very unexpected, around every corner, like many singers sang, there is a new world to discover!
From the meeting point we choose we start our tour to let you enjoy my beautiful city as much as we can in an half day tour! These will be the highlights of journey together: - walking by the Ancient Port sea side to learn about the foundation of the city and the Saint George Palace - walking through the alleys (here called "Caruggi"), narrow and surrounded by very high buildings - taking a public elevator (Genova is a "Vertical" city) to an amazing view point! - visiting a Baroque church (i really like the church of Saint Siro o of Madonna delle Vigne!. . . ) - tasting focaccia (plain and with onions!), a real specialty in town! - tasting "panera genovese", a local unique gelato! At the end of the tour we will walk back to the Ancient Port, easy for public transportation and lunch spots!
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
