Hi everybody! My name is Francesca and I live in Genoa (Genova in Italian!), where I was born. I have a degree in Geology and licenses as a city guide and hiking guide. I worked for an oilfield company for few years long time ago, but I am working as a guide already since 30 years and collaborate with TBL since more than 10 years! I am always enthusiastic to meet new people and to involve them in the knowledge of my native region, Liguria. I like meeting new guests, walking with them, telling them about the nature and the history. . . cooking with them!! I am specialized in Genoa, but also in the Italian Riviera (Portofino, Camogli, Monterosso and many hidden little towns!)... Do you like to discover more about you ancestors in Liguria? Let me know, we can plan a research with a genealogist! Do you like to learn about the real ingredients for authentic local recipes, like pesto or focaccia genovese? We can go together to the market! Do you like to visit a private palace with incredible painted ceilings and great facilities?...why not? We can easily plan a customized tour: I am a certified, but I am not a driver, so I can arrange a vehicle if required or a cooking class or a tasting! Francesca

Overview of your Genoa tour

Genoa is a seaside city, but the influence of the countryside and of the rustic products of the land has always had a fundamental role for the local dishes and typical recipes. In the old town we still have many old shops and an unbelievable food market with all the seasonal vegetables, fruits, nuts and more: you can buy food, taste it or simply enjoy the colors and the aromas or simply take photos of the everyday life of the local people. Each Italian region has so many traditions: can you believe that pesto sauce and focaccia were born in Genoa, but each family and bakery make them a little different? Would you like to taste some of the best local olives and most delicate ExtraVirgin olive oil? NB the tour cannot be bought on Sundays and Holiday days and on Wednesday afternoon!

Your Genoa tour itinerary

An itinerary that I often do on my own to enjoy all I would like to transmit about my city and my land!. 1. I will meet you at your hotel, at the cruise port or at the train station 2. the tour starts in the ancient town, through the narrow lanes, the high buildings and the medieval facades, where most of the pastry, chocolate and gelato shops are located, without omitting the several bakeries, making focaccia, plain and with onions, and several kinds of bread! 3. a huge fountain divide Genova in two "different" cities, two faces of the same beauty: the monumental Genova of the XIX century hides the "Mercato Orientale", a real delight for everybody who like food and traditions 4. there will be many tastings during the tour, ending at the market with the local wine or simply with a good italian coffee!
