Hi everybody! My name is Francesca and I live in Genoa (Genova in Italian!), where I was born. I have a degree in Geology and licenses as a city guide and hiking guide. I worked for an oilfield company for few years long time ago, but I am working as a guide already since 30 years and collaborate with TBL since more than 10 years! I am always enthusiastic to meet new people and to involve them in the knowledge of my native region, Liguria. I like meeting new guests, walking with them, telling them about the nature and the history. . . cooking with them!! I am specialized in Genoa, but also in the Italian Riviera (Portofino, Camogli, Monterosso and many hidden little towns!)... Do you like to discover more about you ancestors in Liguria? Let me know, we can plan a research with a genealogist! Do you like to learn about the real ingredients for authentic local recipes, like pesto or focaccia genovese? We can go together to the market! Overview of your Genoa tour
Our day together will be focus on discovering the area where I first started to work and discover my guide attitudes many years ago: Portofino and Santa Margherita are elegant and famous locations today, but in the past they were simple fishing villages and locations for the summer vacations of the Genoese middle class. The Cape of Portofino is a Nature Park as well, so traveling by boat, walking around the towns or simply seat in a coffee give you the opportunity to discover this small peninsula between nature, history and local traditions.

We highly recommend Francesca! We had a fantastic time and particularly enjoyed hiking through the villages in Cinque Terre! Francesca has exceptional communication skills (from the beginning planning stages through execution), outstanding customer service and follow through. We also had a superb guide, Stefano, while hiking. Francesca took care of every detail of our trip and we are so thankful for the care she took in making our time absolutely perfect!
Your Genoa tour itinerary
Departure from Genoa (Port, city centre, hotel) by private car in direction of the Portofino Peninsula (about 45min driving), enjoying the steep coastline. - the first stop will be Portofino: of course a walk in this town is always very enjoyable (the famous square, the uphill to Saint George church, the scenic piers), even if the fishing town looks much more like an elegant painting today! - the second stop will be Santa Margherita, with the charme of the colored houses, the seaside promenade, interesting location for good local restaurants. Depending on your attitudes, we can simply walk in town, visiting the church of Saint Margaret and enjoying the local shops, or walking up to the view point of villa Durazzo. Lunch in Santa Margherita and car back to Genova.
