HAPPY 2024 and Welcome to Bahia, land of happiness ("terra da felicidade") - Travellers from USA, Canada and Australia please check the updates about Visas to visit Brazil from April 2024 and on! I am a "Soteropolitana" (born in Salvador, Bahia), Blasian (Brazilian Black Asian) and tour guide. I truly love my job: creating new possibilities to visit my hometown and State of Bahia (Cachoeira, Morro de SĂŁo Paulo, Boipeba, Praia do Forte, etc). In 2020, with the virtual tours, I have learned new way of working - now it is possible to visit Brazil, without leaving your house. I have done tours for students, families, group of friends and seniors from township and I am really grateful. I love my virtual tours, specially the Live Streamed Tours from the Old Town and Musical Experience in Black Rome - check it!!! My experience travelling in Brazil and Abroad, Literature, Music and Gastronomy (coordinator of "comida di buteco" in Salvador - food festival) inspire me a lot to do different tours around Salvador/Bahia. Salvador is the afro-city in Brazil and a place to come if you want to feel Brazilian atmosphere and culture! In my tours we will always support small local business and with a balance to the top attractions in town. If you want, I can also send you my own "guide book" of Salvador, with options of things to do and see in Salvador. TRY TO BOOK IN ADVANCE, SO I CAN HELP YOU PLANNING YOUR VACATION IN BAHIA. PLEASE SEND A MESSAGE FOR MORE INFO EVEN IF THE CALENDAR SHOWS THAT I AM NOT AVAILABLE. SOMETIMES I MIGHT HAVE HALF DAY FREE AND ABLE TO DO TOURS DURING THE DAY OR BY NIGHTS. Join the tours and see Salvador with a soteropolitano - a real local from Bahia! Highly suggest to try my exclusive by night, and see our nightlife as a "Sotero" and the "Afro Heritage Tou"r - Salvador is the most African city in Brazil! Cheers, Sayuri "Minha vida Ă© andar por este paĂs Pra ver se um dia descanso feliz Guardando as recordações Das terras onde passei Andando pelos sertões E dos amigos que lá deixei. . " (A Vida do Viajante, Luiz Gonzaga) Former Lawyer (Universidade Mackenzie - Sao Paulo), Tour Guide (National and South America - SENAC Bahia 2011/2014) and Graduated Literature/English at Universidade Federal da Bahia (2018) I have got my licence of Embratur/Ministerio Turismo.

Welcome to Bahia!! This is the most important and must do tour in Salvador: walking tour in the UNESCO World Heritage Site and you will visit with a local afro-brazilian tour guide. This is my favorite part of the city and the walking tours (in-person or virtual). We will walk in the upper city and if you want we can also visit the lower city Mercado Modelo area (option) The streets that inspired Jorge Amado to write "Dona Flor and her 2 husbands" and were also used by many artists in their videoclip - the most famous one was Michael Jackson in 1996 - "They Don't Care About US" Salvador was the first capital of Brazil (1549 - 1763) and walk in the colonial wall city is a charming view of Bahia. Also this area is the location of museums, schools of music/dance, cultural centers, and some top restaurants!
We will explore the whole area of UPPER city from Largo do Pelourinho until Elevador Lacerda: cultural centers, museums, hand made crafts of local artists, etc. If you book the tour around 2:30-3:00PM, we can plan to see the sunset by the end of the tour. A tradicional itinerary in the Old Town: Meeting at Terreiro de Jesus - WAlking towards Elevador Lacerda - Largo Peloruinho, Praca da Se and best view of the Bay of All Saints (I usually give an option to visit the Lower City - Mercado Modelo) Walk in the main streets with calm and time to explore small local shops and local flavours (drink Cravinho is a MUST in Pelourinho) You will have enouth time to enjoy town and we will visti the Igreja de Sao Francisco (Gold Church - tickets included) (*) If Sao Francisco Church is not open we will visit Cathedral or N. S. Rosario Pretos Church. I suggest to finish the tour in one of my favorite local restaurants. (*this tour DOES NOT APPLY FOR CARNIVAL SEASON - CHECK CARNIVAL TOUR OPTIONS)
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
We will meet in the old town - I suggest the meeting point terreiro de Jesus (Catedral Basilica) It is also offered a pick up in Salvador, in your hotel, if you need. For special a special pick up (from the airport, hotel or Northern Shore, please let me know and we can add the cost in the tour)
