HAPPY 2024 and Welcome to Bahia, land of happiness ("terra da felicidade") - Travellers from USA, Canada and Australia please check the updates about Visas to visit Brazil from April 2024 and on! I am a "Soteropolitana" (born in Salvador, Bahia), Blasian (Brazilian Black Asian) and tour guide. I truly love my job: creating new possibilities to visit my hometown and State of Bahia (Cachoeira, Morro de São Paulo, Boipeba, Praia do Forte, etc). In 2020, with the virtual tours, I have learned new way of working - now it is possible to visit Brazil, without leaving your house. I have done tours for students, families, group of friends and seniors from township and I am really grateful. I love my virtual tours, specially the Live Streamed Tours from the Old Town and Musical Experience in Black Rome - check it!!! My experience travelling in Brazil and Abroad, Literature, Music and Gastronomy (coordinator of "comida di buteco" in Salvador - food festival) inspire me a lot to do different tours around Salvador/Bahia. Salvador is the afro-city in Brazil and a place to come if you want to feel Brazilian atmosphere and culture! In my tours we will always support small local business and with a balance to the top attractions in town. If you want, I can also send you my own "guide book" of Salvador, with options of things to do and see in Salvador. TRY TO BOOK IN ADVANCE, SO I CAN HELP YOU PLANNING YOUR VACATION IN BAHIA. PLEASE SEND A MESSAGE FOR MORE INFO EVEN IF THE CALENDAR SHOWS THAT I AM NOT AVAILABLE. SOMETIMES I MIGHT HAVE HALF DAY FREE AND ABLE TO DO TOURS DURING THE DAY OR BY NIGHTS. Join the tours and see Salvador with a soteropolitano - a real local from Bahia! Highly suggest to try my exclusive by night, and see our nightlife as a "Sotero" and the "Afro Heritage Tou"r - Salvador is the most African city in Brazil! Cheers, Sayuri "Minha vida é andar por este país Pra ver se um dia descanso feliz Guardando as recordações Das terras onde passei Andando pelos sertões E dos amigos que lá deixei. . " (A Vida do Viajante, Luiz Gonzaga) Former Lawyer (Universidade Mackenzie - Sao Paulo), Tour Guide (National and South America - SENAC Bahia 2011/2014) and Graduated Literature/English at Universidade Federal da Bahia (2018) I have got my licence of Embratur/Ministerio Turismo.

Reconcavo Baiano is a hidden gem, if you want to get to know more about Brazilian Afro Heritage. Not many tour guides offer a day trip in Cachoeira, that I consider my second home in Bahia!! I highly recommend a day out of Salvador and Reconcavo Baiano is the perfect scape: full of history, culture, music (samba de roda), gastronomy and axe. If you plan to visit in August - you can book to visit the city during the Festival of Sisterhood of Good Death (Irmandade da Boa Morte) - customize your experience. Besides Cachoeira, we will visit Santo Amaro da Purificação and an authentic local market + Sao Felix As a suggestion, check an extra option: it is possible to plan an extra day in town - we can plan to sleep one day in Cachoeira and also visit a Quilombo (Maroon communities) or do a workshop of Samba de Roda (expect extra costs) Check the pictures with some of the great views and culture of Reconcavo Baiano
Itinerary to a regular day trip to Cachoeira - the tour can be customized as per the traveler's preferences) - We do not recommend to book this visit on SUNDAYS. Consider algo visiting a Quilombo (Maroon communities) during this visit and maybe add a sleep in Cachoeira (extra cost - customized tour) 1. Visit the charming town of Santo Amaro (90 min drive), birthplace of Caetano Veloso and Maria Bethania. Bembe do Mercado/ Candomble in the Market is celebrated in May. 2. Cachoeira (30 min drive) : Irmandade da Boa Morte (cultural center - require bookings to visit inside), walking tour in the Historical Buildings (Old City Hall and view of Ordem Terceira do Carmo ) + free time to visit Visit Art Galleries and View of Paraguassu River. Option: visit Cigar Factories. We stay at least 3 hours in Cachoeira, enjoying the colonial building and atmosphere of a small town. lunch: local restaurants in Cachoeira or Fazenda Santa Cruz in Muritiba (we need to book in advance), driving along Sao Felix Town.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
Private Sedan Car - FIAT Cronos 2023. For bigger groups (more them 3, we can adjust the vehicle and transportation for a Sprinter Van) If you want we can add a extra cost for a private driver - I recommend if you have low mobility in town.
