Explore Curitiba your way

At ToursByLocals, we believe that how you explore is just as important as where you go. That’s why every Curitiba tour is private, flexible, and built around you: Move at your own pace, skip the crowds, make connections and follow your curiosity. Find local guides offering private tours in Curitiba for every interest, including:

Nature and Wildlife tours: Stroll Barigui Park at dusk to watch capybaras grazing by the lake and spot herons and hawks, then head to Tanguá Park for quarry views and garden paths. Pair the Botanical Garden’s greenhouse walk with birdwatching in the neighbouring woods while your guide helps identify Atlantic Forest species.

City highlights tours: Visit the eye-shaped Oscar Niemeyer Museum with a guided look at its design galleries, then continue to the Ópera de Arame and Pedreira Paulo Leminski to cross footbridges over a water-filled quarry. Add Largo da Ordem’s historic lanes and the Panoramic Tower for a 360-degree city highlights tour.

Hiking tours: Go into the Serra do Mar for a half-day climb up Morro do Anhangava in Serra da Baitaca State Park, a well-marked trail with granite slabs and big views when clouds lift. For a fuller day, hike a section of the historic Caminho do Itupava toward Morretes, with your guide handling permits, logistics, and a stop for barreado, the region’s slow-cooked beef stew.

Downtown areas like Largo da Ordem are walkable, and the BRT network plus the Linha Turismo bus connect major sights; to link parks and viewpoints more efficiently, ask your guide about chauffeured tours or private transportation.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all itinerary, you can tailor your private tour to match your interests, pace and personality with a local who knows Curitiba inside and out.

Day trip ideas from Curitiba

Use Curitiba as your base and stretch out into green hills, historic towns, and rocky parks nearby, choosing day trips that match your love of food, walks, or views while your tour follows your pace.

Morretes and Antonina via Estrada da Graciosa: Roll down a lush mountain road to two riverside towns with cobbled lanes and calm plazas. Taste barreado, browse small markets, and photograph colourful facades, which is great if you want culture and scenery without a hard hike.

Vila Velha State Park: See strange sandstone towers and deep sinkholes on easy loops with clear paths. Geology fans and casual walkers get a lot in a short visit, and wide viewpoints make simple, clean photos.

Witmarsum Colony: A rural stop known for dairy, baked goods, and quiet farm roads. If you like countryside tastes, short bike rides, and low traffic, this area delivers a slow day with easy stops and plenty of space.

Colónia Murici Wine Route, São José dos Pinhais: Family wineries and small eateries sit among hills and araucaria pines. It fits you if local wine, simple kitchens, and short scenic drives sound like your kind of day.

Plan tours around weekends or midweek to avoid crowd surges, and give yourself time for a long lunch, since much of the fun here is at the table.

A private tour with a local guide is the best way to really get to know a place. Skip the crowds, follow your interests, and see a side of Curitiba most travellers miss.
