Welcome to Salvador! I chose to be a tour guide because I enjoy people, history, and foreign languages, and I have the opportunity to exchange experiences with people from different parts of the world. I have been working in this profession since 2002, and almost every day I make new friends who invite me to visit their cities. I enjoy meeting people from different cultures, learning about their experiences, and sharing my knowledge and passion for the places I guide them through. I believe that every tour is an opportunity to create meaningful connections and help travelers discover the history, culture, and local life of a destination. I believe this is an excellent opportunity for me to expand my network, generating more business that benefits both me and ToursByLocals. I look forward to meeting new travelers, sharing my experience, and creating memorable experiences for those who choose to explore with me.

Casa do Benin - Rua Pe Agostinho Gomes - Centro Histórico, Salvador - Bahia, Brazil
Inaugurated in 1988, the Casa do Benin (House of Benin) resulted from an exchange program between Bahia and the African country of Benin, through the city of Cotonou. After a renovation carried out by the architect Lina Bo Bardi – who maintained the external lines of the centuries-old building but modernized the spaces – the house houses a rich collection of objects and works of art from the Gulf of Benin region, from where most of the Black people who populated the Recôncavo Baiano came.
